I saw the initial spin break headlines earlier this week about an uncredentialed press person who didn't identify herself being arrested. Here is an article that cites the original tweet from the Sheriff's Dept:
On Twitter, the Sheriff’s Department quickly claimed that “she did not identify herself as press and later admitted she did not have proper press credentials on her person.”

Today I found out the reporter was from KPCC. Police follow up by saying they have never heard of the station before which is why she was detained for 5 hours. I'm not even from Cali and I know about KPCC. They are like a local NPR so the idea that they were antagonizing police or ignoring orders just doesn't line up with their message. The video dropped today and the police statement doesn't line up with the video:
The frustrating part is that you can see the police officers stepping on her phone here:
I'm an 'innocent until proven guilty kinda guy, so I thought that it might have been inadvertent, but when you circle back and look at the first video, you can see them kicking the phone purposefully. I'm not part of the ACAB or eliminate police crowd, but it is hard to attempt to have a constructive convo when they keep getting filmed doing this kind of thing.
