Yup, I remember Spionza he might've even worked for Vice at one point. I wonder if it will ever come out, I'm shocked that anyone would throw so much product into such a harebrained scheme, the money obviously wasn't the Slava guy's.

Twenty-five Baltimore correctional officers have been indicted on charges of excessive force on prisoners in state-run jails,. Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said the indicted officers have been accused of assaulting and threatening inmates, tampering with evidence and falsifying documents. At a press conference Baltimore officials confirmed 1 of the 25 indicted officers had been taken into custody.

My family came up in NYC and peaced out during the Giuliani era. I've got three generations worth of hand-me-down police brutality stories from friends and family alike. At the extreme end of the violence, it's pure horror stories and cover ups. My aunts and uncles weren't all formally educated, but they all knew exactly what a writ of habeas corpus was...

Planning on discussing this story on my podcast some time soon fam. The sad part is a lot of this sort of ish has always been assumed but having the co-signs and the evidence to support it just shuts people up that want to play the "all you have to do is just behave" card every time there's an incident. Another police corruption story I never got to cover and that didn't get wide attention because it was in North Jersey rather than NYC, but this one was crazy too...these police had slang for robbing people and it wasn't even clever.
