Copping a new laptop with my stim check, need advice

My laptop shyt the bed awhile ago and I'm looking to get a new one

Using it mainly for web browsing, streaming movies/tv and possibly getting into video editing. I want to be able to have bout 15 tabs open without the shyt getting sluggish.

Should I just get the new Macbook Air with the M1 chip? Never had a macbook before. if any coli brehs have it let me know how its working for you so far.

also looking at the Dell XPS 13 and the Acer Swift 3. Looking to spend $1000 or less.

I got the Acer Swift 3 in 2017. Solid laptop. My shyt crapped out on me cause I kept dropping it.

I got the 13” Pro with the M1 Chip in December.

I like it so far. They’ve also seem to solve the issue where previous MacBooks would overheat with it sounding like a jet engine. My only complaint is that I wish it had more than 2 thunderbolt USB 4 ports.

Whatever you get make sure it has USB ports and SD card slots. The bullshyt mac i got for work doesn't have any of those. The M1 MacBook Air is the best laptop for the money right now and it’s not close.

will take you less than a week to get used to macOS and when you do you won’t miss bloated, resource hogging windows. Try it. If I’m wrong, return it.

I mean yeah having to use a dongle for SD cards is annoying but I damn sure wouldn’t be bothered with windows because of that

I need a new laptop soon but am holding off from buying a mac because of their creep-ware.

So it's either the Dell, a prism/pure or a linux laptop.
