The deal with Marley Marl in 1992 Cormega mentioned was with Pendulum Records via Elektra. Marley Marl had a 2 act deal on the table for Cormega & Lords Of The Underground but Mega got locked for a robbery which he was convicted for and sentenced to a 3-5 which he won an appeal for and came home in 3. Before he got locked Mega was the illest young rapper in QB at the time and out of Marley Marls own mouth the first gangster rapper from Queensbridge which all garnered him a guest verse on PHD aka Poet & Hot Day's first album at the age of 14!\

I thought so.

I've never heard this narrative that cormega was the illest out QB at that time. That's news to me because live at the BBQ was already out.
I know Prodigy said in his book that Mega was considered the best in Qb as well when it was time to battle them..Not sure if that was pre or post Live at the BBQ, though.

Say what you want about Stoute...he's never lied.

Dudes have gotten angry at him, but he's batting 1.000 when it comes to the beefs and detailed info.

This is true. Mega acknowledged in an interview somewhere that as much as he could diss Nas/Stoute at the end of the day it was a business move he simply disagreed with.

He did say that Stoute was telling Nas that Mega was hating on him and felt like he should be the leader, something Mega claims he never said or believed.

It's not as simple as one side being right or wrong. The Firm is largely viewed as a failure on multiple levels, one of Stoute's many ideas that was more $ based than art or quality. Yea Mega avoided a flop and slave deal but Mega still hurt himself with dumbass street shyt and couldn't become a business man like Nas. Got nothing to do with selling out, everything to do with being smart and escaping the projects.

Cormega made great music but he was bitter for a long time.

I can't forget when he had that forum and used to be online just hating and arguing with fans. He was like Joe Budden at that point. Then he snapped out of it eventually
Mega even dissed Galvatron from :hamster: in an interview :russ:
