:aicmon: actions speak louder than words. Yea you can throw a couple quotes to prove your point but you are going disregard his actions. Yea RGIII said he doesn't want to be viewed as a stereotypical black QB but he allowed himself to be used like one by running the spread option and potentially ruining his career. Looks like Shanahan had RGIII out there tap dancing :mjpls:

Again are you black?

Yeah....let's ignore the possible REACTION RGIII wasn't worried about while Vince was straight up :stylin:trying to be in the good graces of the people you diss RGIII for in saying ":ehh: I don't see no race, sir!!!"

Again....this niqqa here is asking me I'm black.

You think I'm some white dude in here throwing niqqa around for fun?

Thanks for responding to the fact that his actions didn't dictate he truly felt that way:beli:

:smh:at you trying to hold on to a "I gotcha statement". Vince doesn't have a problem being around his people but RGIII :mjpls:. I mean I dont ever see RGIII around black ppl or take pictures :mjpls:unless it involves sports

"Gotcha" Statement?

fukk is this Sarah Palin bullshyt? That was his mentality when asked to address Donavan McNabb being real about black qbs and how they're treated.

Vince was a clown. He was scared.

So can you tell me how what RGIII said matters or if he was being genuine if all he did was the opposite?

LOL @ this crappy question.

Do you NOT want to agree with him on his thoughts about how black qbs are perceived because you so badly want to win an argument?

Second....if you think what RGIII said is wrong about black qbs, its my turn to ask you....."Are you black???" :jawalrus:

I agree with his so called "thoughts". But people tend to say things that they don't necessarily believe. But I thought he didn't want to be compared to blacks because of the negative sterotype "like to run" but then he goes out there and runs the spread option :comeon:. Could you speak to that kind sir

Im surprised by this response --- I would have figured that you of all people would take inventory of the larger implications and significance of this.

While I thought Parker's comments were needlessly inflammatory, and im no huge fan of his personally, its hard to ignore the flagrant double standards. White talent has routinely pushed buttons to a very offensive degree, namely Colin Cowherd and his "black fathers" angle, and Greenberg's Martin Luther c00n 'slip of the tongue', to little consequence, much less a firing.

Im aware that there are other variables at work, the white talent mentioned are more high profile and important to the bottom line than a contributer, the fact remains that we shouldnt allow for such inconsistencies in treatment. I hope Parker doesnt take this lying down.

I don't watch Colin Cowherd. I'm not even familiar with the comments you're referencing. But I do know that Rob Parker has the nervous system of a starfish, his comments were offensive, unprofessional and he inappropriate and deserved to be axed imo not just for that comment but because of many, that being the most egregious example of his idiocy.

Sadly, prominent black journalists and media analysts have to always keep in mind that they can't get too comfortable among whites voicing personal opinions or thoughts as they don't/won't have the same leeway afforded to them as their Caucasian peers.

Professional Journalist slips up...

Difference is that the journalist is a conduit for the media organization that employs him. When you put a multi-billion dollar media conglomerate at risk credibility/PR wise, they're not gonna let that slide.

People in this country get more up in arms about hurt feelings than anything else.

Rappers and all that other shyt are entertainment, same with athletes, they're all tap dancers, but a journalist is expected to provide credibility and integrity, and in the instances where they're depended upon to play the role of a substantive editorialist, you're jeopardizing the brand at large if you say something inflammatory.
