New generation, new rules. Work hard for something that will make you rich, not for a greedy ceo that never cares about you as a person.

Is that what you're doing. For example in the IT field the corporate environment gives me access to touch technology I couldn't have got my hands on otherwise. This experience translates to reality when i do side gigs and the tech I've learned on the job gives me access to higher paying clients. If your just working hard for yourself but dint have the right training to make it by yourself you're hustling backwards.

Obviously this isn't what Everyone should do to make it on their own but there are people who do not work hard at all and blame the reason they aren't hard workers on who is cutting them their check. People who don't work hard for others won't even work hard for themselves. Work ethic and excellence is a character trait

I may be completely crazy but not a day goes by that I dont think about quitting and just going full throttle 100% grind on my hobby, see where it takes me. Even if I make minimal money from it, which I believe I could in todays crazy ass world...I'd still take that over making money by living like a drone surrounded by walkin zombies.

Sounds like you know what you need to do. Trust me, at the end of the day, once you have enough money to live comfortably, that shyt doesn't matter. You're way better off following your passion. But you need to make sure you have the proper career capital first so you can make money from it.

I had a corporate job when I was younger, it was cool at first when I had more money than my friends, nice ass car and nice place, but I noticed I had almost no time to myself when the day was done. Once I started waking up in the morning like :Yeahaight: I knew my days doing that shyt were numbered.

I saved a little bit of money, sold my car and when my lease was up I quit and traveled around a bit, ended up living in Brazil for almost 6 months, went to Colombia, South Africa, Cuba, Mexico, DR and a few other places. It was the best decision I ever made in my life, once you start breaking down the math it's just a horrible existence. I worked 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, which left me with 4-8 hours a day to myself since I would sleep 6-8 hours. If you keep a basic 8 hour job like that over a 30 year period, 10 years of your life will be spent at work doing some shyt that in no way enriches your life and another 10 years will be spent sleeping.......

Time is more precious than some dead trees with some shyt scribbled on them.

That's not work ethic, its a difference in goals. Some people are content with what they have, some are not. If you're not you will work those 80 hours (in a corporate setting ofc) to become noticeable.

What I'm saying is that he's obviously unhappy at his job and feels the need to pursue his dreams. Okay then, time for him to pursue his dreams and if they work out then fantastic, but if not then he should look for another job, perhaps a small business? But something he enjoys nonetheless that he doesn't cause him worry or stress

Dont feel guilty, just make the necessary changes. Theres few things worse than a cancerous work environment. That shyt will fukk with you.

I worked at a company where people were making ~50-60K and they have a near 100% turnover rate. Money isn't everything. U can get another job.

If u arent feeling like u wanna get married man up and tell the chick. As is you are just wasting everybody's time. Dont feel guilty. Not getting married is OK. Getting married for the wrong reasons is one of the worst things you can do.

What did you do out in Brazil? What did you do after you got back to the States?

I've been in Corporate for about 9 months and in 1 week I determined I couldn't foresee myself doing this for too long just enough to get some money stacked and then live life the way I want to.

This the part that's killin me. I'm the youngest fukk here right now, all my colleagues are 10 years deep in the company...maan...ALL of them are fukked up. In the head. All of them gossipin around all day, tryin to back stab whoever, all of them asking me "questions" low key probably tryin to catch me off guard, all of them always talkin same topics...
These people are dead man. They given their best years in life to be in this fukkin safe environment. And the results are...well...awful. I don't wanna end up like that.

You can go for it, but you need to be prepared for the decrease in income. And, there's always the possibility of going back to corporate life if things don't work out.
I got tired of the rat race, and although I liked the work I was doing, I didn't like the job and the commute. I ended up changing careers to something that was more satisfying, but the pay was lower. It wasn't all what I expected it to be and I wasn't as good at it as I thought I could be. I ended up back in the same job but with a different company. If you change your goals in the corporate world rather than just trying to get by, then that might change your outlook. This might entail switching to a different company, but doing similar work. Sometimes, the work environment at a different company is more satisfying even though you are doing the same thing. I don't feel stuck in the rat race while working for a corporation. I got things outside of work that I do. Sports and music related. It's a hobby/exercise. That's why all these amateur sports men's leagues (basketball, softball, baseball, hockey, bowling) exist. Got to do something that's fun and prevent you from going insane. Might sound stupid, but joining one of these leagues is pretty fun and trying to make the championship can be like the highlight of your year.

As for marriage...I do not have clarity right now. I just dont. And I feel guilty about it. A lot of my friends got married, makes me feel as if I'm slackin.
That same shyt your father told you - work ain't supposed to be fun - I feel it also applies to marriage. Put up and get married and don't fantasize about marriage being "ideal" - same with the job.

Well, getting married for all the wrong reasons will end in divorce. Because when someone else asks why you got married and your answer is because you felt guilty about not being married, that's going to be a red flag on your part, not your wife. You can get married when you are young. You can married when you are old. Regardless of how old you are, if you get married for the right reason, then you won't have regrets. If you know she's the one, then you can get married without regrets. You don't have to have a big wedding, if you have worries about money. A marriage isn't about the size of the wedding. Look at Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kris Humphries. Big, expensive wedding. Marriage lasted 72 days. You can go to Las Vegas, city hall, or even have a small wedding in your house presided by a reverend and a couple witnesses. These $10,000 to $100,000 weddings are a joke. But if that's what you want, then fine.
You have to work at marriage. No one is perfect but if you work at it, then things will be fine. The main reason is your spouse knows your faults and vice versa. That can cause friction. I've been in a lot of arguments for my wife. I'm not perfect, our marriage isn't perfect. It's cray know that I think about it.
