That 2nd place in the video is :wow:

I'd have the same thing built in Dallas for 40% of the cost

No other city compares to NYC as far city living is concerned and the good and bad that goes with it. In any city you have to pay to live where the action is. Your gonna pay 1300 to 1500 or more for 1 bdr. to live I midtown Houston, and you still need a car to move arounbet.

It's all relative.

Always wondered how people can afford these expensive ass places and live comfortably. I feel like you're either a trust fund baby, you're sharing your place with 3 other people, or you're living in an absolute shythole. :francis:
That's the real shyt no poster in this thread or any NY thread wants to admit because of ego. If you search right now for apartments in New York you're not going to find one for under $1,500/month for 1 bedroom.

You womt even find 1 fukking bedroom for 1,500 a month.

Some poster said he paid $1,350 a month for a 600sqft one bedroom in the Bronx and it was a good deal. :mjlol: The Bronx is dirty as shyt and far as fukk from downtown Manhattan and it's still more than a mortgage payment for an entire house in every other state in the country.

Apartments in Harlem are a minimum of $1,800 a month and they look like shytholes. Graffiti all over the buildings, garbage piled up right in front of the door and lining the sidewalks. You pay $1,800 a month for a 500sqft apartment in a old ass building and the first thing you see when you walk out your building is garbage and graffiti? :scust:

Brooklyn and Queens apartments are a minimum of $2,000 a month, and that's for studios. They really live like roaches over there because if you make 75k you're spending 60% of your take home pay on rent unless you have a roommate. Not building equity, not savings, not investing, more than half your money is spent just so you can live in a run down building in a cramped unit, with no car, with garbage on the sidewalk, and rats and roaches in your building. :scust:

It's outrageous that someone had to spend a MINIMUM of $2,500 every single month just to life in a building thats not a complete POS. There's nothing in NYC that justifies that kind of price .

The one poster said it best, they try to justify it as winning just because they're getting raped less. All them east coast guys are getting raped, and they know it.

I do a ban bet that nobody can find an example of a good one bedroom anywhere in NY for less than $2,000/month, it's disgusting. :smh:

Well said. It's depressing out here in NYC. The vast majority of people are living extremely uncomfortable lives just for the sake of saying that they live in NYC. Most of my peers don't have children and they are already feeling the pinch . Imagine those people who have children and are working middle-class to working class jobs which is the vast majority of NYC.

I get the feeling that people who are really enjoying and reaping the benefits of living in NYC are wall street bankers and people from "old money" while the overwhelming majority are smiling and suffering. Just look at people's expression in a NYC subway. Most of them look miserable

He's got Stockholm syndrome. :wow:
He thinks he's getting a good deal. :wow:
He's spending 1,450 a month to live in a cramped unit just so he can...

...so he can...so he can what? :dwillhuh:

Go out to a club at 2am?
Go get a chopped cheese at 1am?
Get policed by the NYPD?
Play hopscotch with the rats in his building?

A 800 square foot 1 bedroom in the heart of Downtown Chicago, in the nicest building in the newest development at North Harbor Tower(the new east side) is $1,600/month. :wow:

A 900sqft 1 bedroom in a loft building next door to Trump Tower in the middle of downtown rent is $1,825. :wow:. @Sterling Archer lived down there, I never have but all the associates I know all have nice units in downtown for that price.

Some prime Gold Coast properties right on Lake Michigan max out, MAX OUT, at $3.5k a month for 2+ bedrooms with 1,000+sqft. :wow: @GoldCoastSaint

My condo in Hyde park would cost 1.5mill easy in NY and it was just over $300k :wow:

No rats or roaches in sight. :wow:

You'd have to live south of 200th street to get the distance dude is paying in NY, which is the equivalent of living in the Bronx next to chop shop car lots and Dominican prostitutes. That's like me paying $1,450 a month to live in a cramped one bedroom apartment in Harvey here in Illinois and saying I got a deal. :mindblown: . @beaniemac @Milk N Cookies

id live in nyc if i could live in a decent 1 br apt/condo
living in these old ass decrepit buildings or living with roommates :camby:

my cousins bytch ass lived across the street from prospect park where they got some museum or library, was paying 1500$/month for a 1 br. fukk him
shyt was hella nice
:sadcam:

lol my ex lived in that area too, but her pops was like a landlord. I was like Fvk, that prospect park, Barclay arenas area is nice AF.
I was looking for APTs out there, cheapest rent for a 1 bdrm is like 2500. By Barclay, Park Slope, cheapest 1 BRM or studio is like 3500.

Im just surprised how much the value of Brooklyn has risen since the Barclay Arena was built. If you had a property in BK before then, your home probably gained tons of value. My mom told me that area use to be gross and no one wanted to live there before they cleaned it up.
