1) How did this work out for the Outlawz?

Cause I can't think of any of their songs.

2) And I don't recall this getting much burn anywhere

Nothing the Outlawz have ever done is in the same stratosphere as the quality of classics BCC has created.

And you can't count any of the leaked One Nation songs as actual releases with real time feedback. Like all of Pac's unreleased shyt when he died, it was bootlegged to oblivion with shytty sound quality and unmixed results. Those might not have ended up being the final versions of the songs. I didn't hear the version of Brothaz At Arms with the barely audible Smif N Wessun's verses until like 5 or 6 years ago, and I got the version Duck Down released as a white label on wax back in the 90s with just Buckshot and Pac.

I was there when they dropped. Wu and BCC was as grimy as grime could get.

Not to be flippant, but what woman was checking for this?

Wu needed Puffy to remix All I need

Rae and Ghost = Tek n Steele

As for GZA and Deck, I'd put Sean P and Buckshot up against them any day.

The ODB factor though.... :ohhh:

Them women didn’t care about those songs they just were physically attracted to Meth. Touché on Sean P though.

My recollection was that Meth wasn't really a household name, at least until he got with Red.

Enter the 36, Tical, "The Purple Tape", Iron Man, Liquid Swords - weren't really hits - in terms of radio rotation, club spins, video air play, or record sales - as compared to people like Jermaine Dupri, Bone Thugs, Death Row, and eventually Cash Money and No Limit etc.

But if you saw different, I don't doubt your experience.

What is Starangs legendary verse on the level of an "I bomb atomically"????

I never liked the "I bomb atomically" sh*t, lol. Thought it was corny.

Deck's best verse was on "Above the Clouds" and "C.R.E.A.M".

But on the OGC album, if you just ignore Top Dog and Louisville, you can hear that Starang was nice AF! Dude was just in a weak group. But bar for bar, much better than Deck.

I did say "legendary verse on the level" which means it's not about what you say. Come on now, we both know Starang doesn't have a single verse that everyone acknowledges like Decks verse on Triumph. And they are both from the same era. The closest to the most recognized verse I can think of that had it's stand out moment was the "More untouchable then nikkaz with the chicken pox" line. But there is no grand consensus that acknowledges that line like that. And to me the stand out (especially if its a highly recognized line )is what really defines what is "better,"

What happened? Did they stop using Beatminerz? Why?

Magnum Force has zero beatminerz production on it, for example.

it wasnt even beatminerz imo. cause to your point heltah skeltah proved they didnt need them on multiple albums.

what i remember (and someone please correct me if i'm off) is after the OGC album, they had a window where they got a little experimental with the production. and it just wasn't stacking up against all the other monster shyt that dropped that year. big's second album. wu-tang forever. missy's first joint. harlem world. royal flush. one day it will all make sense. epmd's comeback. soul assassin's. busta dropped "put your hands where my eyes can see" and took over the club. shyt, that was the year will smith came back and was shaking shyt. there was a LOT of comp.

the other piece was pac's death. that look could've took them to a whole other level, but they didn't get a chance to benefit from the alley oop.

they eventually got back to what works. but by then no one was putting them on wu's level.

I think Starang was nicer as an MC.

All this "legendary" single verse sh*t doesn't mean anything, to me. Who rapped better? To me, Starang.

End of story.

Ruck and Rock told them that they didn't need them to proceed everything.

Buck said the plan was always to have Dee and Walt overseeing the albums, like they did on Enta Da Stage and Dah Shinin'. He said that was the tradition. But Health Skeletal didn't want to keep with the tradition, so after that, Dee and Walt took a step back and we see what happened. They said after Dah Shinin', there was a lot of internal issues, and everything spilled over when they did the compilation. Buck said before that the crew wasn't as tight anymore.

Duck Down Records was the East Coast version of Suave House…

They had enough for everyone and was doing their own thing
Priority didn’t really push em enough considering that they was eating good off of Master P.

BCC could have joined forces with Wu at least

Sean Price had him in his Top 5, for a reason.

But yeah, the flow and charisma was CRAZY too! LOL!! Dude needed a solo.

Ruck and Rock had star power but For The People album was an all time fumble that they never recovered from.
One of the worst release ever based on anticipation. To this day, I have no answers. After this album, BCC was over for me except Magnum five album. What is the story behind such a bad album? Why was Beatminerz not present on the majority of beats. Out of 1000 rap albums I have listened to, I remember being very upset for not liking it lol
