Is he any good?
Breh you just threw up 4 IFs and off the 4, 3 would have to be serious improvements from last year which is not guaranteed
You're right, 4 IFs. But very manageable ifs. Since Flores got here player development has been a strength.

Tua improving is a certainty. I am not saying he'll be top 10, but he'll be better than average. He'll understand the playbook, today he said that he never understood the playbook last year.

First year, our OL was trash, pure trash. Last year it was passable/decent. This year it'll be good. Austin at LT fully recovered from injury and more comfortable. Kindley at LG where he was great, Hunt sliding inside to RG, Sakura is a top 10 center if he fixed his snapping issues (which I think they'll fix). RT is a question mark but between Liam, Fluker, and Davis, it'll be fine.

Our defense is getting better year after year with better and better talent. I hope we do sign Melvin Ingram and he still has something in the tank. We addressed the run d personnel. Pass rush still needs to be seen. But, Flores knows how to coach defense. They'll get better. Every single unit got upgraded.

Our receiving core is now perfect for Tua now. Fuller, Waddle, Bowden, Wilson, DVP, Mike, and P. Williams are perfect for what Tua wants to do. Health scares me.

Grant is gone because we have upgrades but the hatred I've seen for this man pisses me off.

Aside form being injury prone. What’s the knock on Preston Williams?

All I’m saying is guaranteeing success in the form a a Super Bowl appearance from a team WHO HASNT ACTUALLY DONE IT YET is delusional. Honestly if we go 11-6 or 10-7 AND make the playoffs I’m happy. I just wanna see improvement from one year to the next. You out here beating your chest screaming Super Bowl appearance for a young team:
  • For a young team who struggled to 10-6 last year.
  • From an organization without a playoff win since 2001.
  • From a young QB in his second year who didn’t necessarily light it up last year.
  • From an offense who’s passing game's expected #1 and #2 receivers are both newcomers to the team (Waddle and Fuller)
  • From a team who lost or got rid of all 4 of its team captains from last year.
  • From an OL that’s still jelling with at least 1 potential rookie starter and a newcomer vet at center (of all positions) that you all said struggled last year

The closest thing we have to a sure thing on this team is coaching and the defense for now. Yes anything is possible and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened but to set that as an expectation…:francis:
Like I said I believe in Flores as much as the next Stan but I’m waiting til training camp to set my expectations

Y’all think Xavien Howard and Emmanuel Ogba both hold out next week?

was listening to a podcast and they were saying as oftentimes as we trade players if they can’t workout a deal with Xavien Howard they might trade him. Which makes sense.

I hope Igbinoghene (sp) is ready to show some ROI

Howard, possible. Ogba? That would surprise me.
Actually if I had to bet on who showed up to camp before new deal is in place it would be Howard.

We better get good quick because Gisecki and Jerome Baker are both up for new contracts after this year

Baker is so smart to lock up. Good price too. Good blitzer, good in coverage, getting better at run d, tackling machine, 3 down linebacker. You keep that

The only person we’re overpaying at the moment is Byron Jones and I’m sure that’ll be “fixed” once Igbinoghene, Holland and Brandon Jones are up to speed

Conventional wisdom is to always get angry at the player for holding out. But I have zero issue with this. I don't care that he recently signed the deal.

Teams get to demand pay cuts and cut players in the middle of contracts all the time. But we scream at the players to honor the same contracts the team doesn't have to? :usure:

They just need to restructure the deal, give him a big signing bonus and make sure he's getting paid more than byron allen (which is supposedly his issue). Besides that, I wouldn't extend the deal just a restructure and make sure he gets more $.

Also, dolphins did stick by him through that domestic violence charge and didn't suspend him....:yeshrug:

Yea there's no way Jones should be making more than him.
