In the grand scheme of things, not much. Other than 2011 which is a huge blemish in GOAT talks, the finals losses are the same as losing in any other round. It means you made it farther than all but 1 team. It’s cool to talk about now but he also beat: Duncan, Kawhi, Curry, Westbrook, Harden, so it’s not like his finals opposition was Swiss cheese when he won rings.Ok devil's advocate - What do the 6 finals losses mean?
What does it mean that Durant Curry Kawhi Dirk and Timmy all beat him for rings? And Kobe perhaps would have as well if he didn't lose to Dwight in the ECF?
What do the 6 finals losses mean?
You hate/love to see itnikkas are mad already![]()

He’s won rings on 3 different franchises in both conferences. His legacy can’t be rewritten at this point. According to that logic, his Lakers years are better than his Cavs years because he’s 1-1 in the West and was 1-5 in the Finals as a Cav

MJ has accomplished whatever he did because of the era, opportunities and longevityHe's played almost 300 games than Jordan
Over 4k more ft attempts than MJ. This is really just a longevity and consistency record.

No participation trophies allowed so we can’t just do thatAt that point, I think you'd have to put him at #1 just for the longevity and sustained greatness.

WE KNOW THIS.
MJ & MALONE COULD HAVE
HAD THIS RECORD BUT
DIDNT GIVE A fukk ABOUT IT.
IT WAS NEVER A THING.
It means that he went to the finals for almost half of his career and faced dynasties in the process. Bron spent the first half of his career elevating a team that would be in the lottery without him and the second half of his career with a spot in the finals every season (partially because of an inferior conference-- though other greats, like MJ, played in an inferior league). The result is 4 rings in 19 seasons.. a similar win percentage as Kareem, Timmy, and Kobe. All of whom never spent 8 seasons with a supporting cast like the 2003-2010 Cavs, lost teammates in the finals due to injury like the 2015 Cavs, dragged some of the weakest squads to ever make the finals (2007 and 2018 Cavs), or faced behemoths like the 2017 and 2018 Warriors.Ok devil's advocate - What do the 6 finals losses mean?

Helps when you play in the JV conference, get to the finals over and over and get smacked over and overIt means that he went to the finals for almost half of his career and faced dynasties in the process. Because playing in the expansion era means he ain't gotta see the KD Warriors or Spurs on the other sideAnd when he got to the finals he wasn’t losing in historical ass whooping’s like LeBron has![]()
