:comeon: Mizzou was a slave state. slave states = the south

Anyways, only a few non-SEC schools are getting those elite prospects. I never said the SEC would win every national title. Just that from top to bottom it will continue to be FAR and AWAY the best conference. So yes, Ohio State might win more titles, so can USC, or Miami (if they ever get their shyt together). However, that don't mean shyt for Minnesota, or Cal, or Boston College.

The SEC is the only conference where you can say there are 6 or 7 ELITE PROGRAMS that can win the national title on any given year. While every other conference is lucky to have 2 elite programs. And the recruiting rankings are the clearest evidence of this disparity.
Bama n Auburn only schools to me thats elite in the SEC. These playoffs gonna expose the SEC. Not taking away from the run the SEC had, cause u cant take those chips away, but had a playoff system been in place they wouldnt have won all those. All that hype all season about 3 or 4 sec school gonna make the playoffs and you see what happened at the end of the year. Outside of Bama n ill throw Auburn in there which they were exposed this year too, but those are the only 2 sec teams i see competing for titles. Mississippi school nope,LSU ehh borderline ill say, A&M no defense playing ass nope. S.Carolina nope, Florida rebuilding still, now got a new coach. They find some offense they will be back. Mizzo nope. Arky nope. Everybody else nope. So who are these 6-7 teams u talking bout?

Couldn't you say that about the entire history of college football though? Not just the SEC.
You could, but remember that's probably why they usually awarded the national title game after the last game of the regular season before the 1970s. IIRC, they awarded Texas the national title at the end of the Texas-Arkansas game in December 1969. The next year, Texas again won the national title but lost the bowl game and ever since then, the title was awarded after NYD.

:what:

LSU, Florida, and Tennessee also won national titles in the last decade and a half alone. Georgia came close to being in that elite group as well. no other conference has more than 2 unique national champs in the bcs era. 5 of the top 10 recruiting classes year in year out are SEC schools.

just stop it slime. when I said 6 or 7 elite programs I meant in terms of ability to attract ELITE PROSPECTS and compete for national titles. Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas A&M (thanks to joining the SEC) are ELITE PROGRAMS because they can consistely recruit top 10 classes year in and year out. I could anyone of those 7 SEC schools winning the national title in the next 4-5 years. No other conference has that many teams consistently attracting ELITE PROSPECTS. In the Big 10, only Ohio State, Michigan, and now Penn State (with Franklin) are able to recruit elite prospects. In the Big 12, its only Texas and Oklahoma (the fact Baylor and TCU are dominating should let you know how badly the Big 12 has fallen off). In the ACC, its only Florida State, Clemson, and maybe Miami in the future. In the Pac 12, its only USC, UCLA, and Oregon.

The SEC was down last year. I'll give you that. We shoulda known that was the case when a team like Mississipi State that routinely was the doormat all of a sudden looked like a juggernaut. But when you consistently have 7 of your teams pulling in top 15 recruiting classes, things are bound to turn around. Just last year 7 of the top 10 schools in the recruiting rankings were SEC schools. So even though our upperclassmen last year were not as good as advertised, I'm confident that won't hold true for every highly touted group we recruit.

don't we see favorites lose every year in the NCAA basketball tournament? or how bout the NFL playoffs? just cause a playoff system will produce more upsets don't mean the SEC ain't still the best conference. check the recruiting rankings each year and check out the NFL draft. then come and see me talkin bout SEC dominance being a myth. we still have more elite players playing in our conference than any other conference in America. PERIOD.

Sec always gonna have elite recruiting classes due to location. Playoff system is gonna expose why the ability to develop that talent by coaches is more a factor to winning chips than just landing a top 5 class. Bama does it, Auburn ill throw in there. The rest are living off of sec hype. Point blank.

how do you explain LSU and Florida wining 3 national titles (2 of em over Ohio State) in the last 10 years?

also if we continually send more dudes to the NFL than any other conference, how can you say we don't develop talent? :lupe:

Texas A&M and LSU both have a shot of being elite. Look at the recruits their getting, look at the state they're playin. Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee as well.

Southern schools will always get elite talent cause thats where the majority of the elite recruits are.thats a undeniable fact no doubt. But out of those schools you listed, they really aren't championship contenders in this playoff system. Not in the foreseeable future. Bama n Auburn run the sec and i dont see that changing no time soon. Thats just me.
