I don't think it is good or bad when it happens naturally, the biggest wrestling company on the planet going out of their way to counterprogram AEW while in the midst of re-monopolizing the industry like the 80s is just pathetic, petty bullshyt just being dikkheads. shyt like running shows in the same markets after finding out AEW's booking schedule is like, man this is just being an a$$hole and ultimately spiting themselves in the long run if they end up harming AEW to the point of what TNA has been 15 years. It doesn't help WWE, it doesn't help fans, it doesn't help the industry, it is just dikkhead corpo bullshyt.

TK: “Nick is a Kahnman” “we crushed NXT!” *has every WWE reject throw shots upon debut*

HHH: “pissant company” “whoopty doo NXT is developmental” *throws shots at AEW during weak WM41 buildup*

The talent raids are the only one I find unsavory. Especially when companies partner with the target and slowly raid the company. There are many examples of this....

I still wish for a special place in hell for Tony for what they did to MLW :mjcry: . That was so closed to WCW, and somehow it faded with the corpse of NWA Powwwwwer.

What he did to ROH was way worse. First the elite and like 80% of the All In card leaves roh and forms aew. Then he promoted that aew talent can work with other companies and continue to work with roh, and they can work on his show too....then he starts signing all of them from ROH, and guts their roster....then he buys ROH for scraps.

It is also noteworthy that the essential nail in the coffin for ROH was the msg g1 supercard show, which was announced BEFORE all in occured, and had a trash roster from ROH because they were gutted, and aew then used that opportunity to work with NJPW more, and subsequently signed their best talent too.

It's absolutely no less predatory than anything Vince did to AWA or Houston Wrestling

ROH was essentially dead by the time of AEW starting up. It was less talent raid and more ROH couldn't hold on to anyone of worth because they were in the doldrums. MLW I think there is a bigger debate to be had about talent raid but they also let most of those guys continue to work MLW for a bit into AEW proper.

But also like...MLW 3.0 has never had a show anywhere near a good AEW show. MLW from original run to 2.0 to 3.0 is the ultimate king promotion of great on paper and half assed disappointment in practice.

WWE signed AJ Styles at his peak in Japan. They signed Nakamura at his peak in Japan. WWE created partnerships with several British indies and ended up signing everyone under their umbrella and those promotions never recovered. Now WWE is in a partnership with TNA and is slowly signing up anyone with name value over there with Jordynne Grace being one of the names, Hendry is probably next.

Dudes talkin bout ROH and ignoring all of the above is nasty.... lol

ROH gave the title to Matt Taven at their biggest show ever in a historic venue. They shot themselves in the foot and booked their own downfall. :dead:

Dudes talking about “talent raids” when WWE is using TNA for that. Buying AAA. Claiming a “hold” on Indy talent. :mjlol:

Wishing a special place in hell because the wrestlers want better opportunities and the guy who can give it them does that.

Pretending to give a shyt about NWA. :mjlol:

The lengths some of you go because you’re fueled with hate for a fresh company with a bankroll that’s giving more opportunities for wrestlers will never not be wild. No wonder people in the industry laugh and loathe the fanbase. And some of you came up with the Big 3 too, which makes it even more :scust:

I was at the NJPW/ROH show at MSG for 'WrestleMania' weekend and it was lit. Excellent show. However, I think ROH pretty much lost their TV deal not too soon after that? Correct me if I'm wrong. At that point, without TV or a TV channel anyone has access to, you probably ain't going far.

I literally mentioned this and showed how AEW was a reason why their roster was bad and roh was desperate. And I also said how WWE is historically guilty of this too. But of course you gotta play defense.

Who is ignoring that or saying WWE isn't doing it too?

Y'all really pathetic man. EVERYTHING is "oh but what about WWE" even when you mention them :dead:

TK wasn’t even in the biz for the MSG or All In shows. He saw how big of an impact All In, and likely ROH/NJPW MSG show, was and jumped at the opportunity to create AEW.

Yall blaming AEW but somehow forget a fukkin pandemic happened. ROH wasn’t gonna last after that on top of better opportunities for wrestlers with AEW. :mjlol:
