i rarely if ever play online,doesnt interest me. id much rather play great single player games then play repetitive multiplayer. unless im with friends in the same room.

yeah, i'm not a big fan of multiplayers anymore myself. this last gen really dropped the ball in terms of creativity. everything didn't have to be a first or third person soldier type shooter, even in the sci-fi games :skip:

Opens thread because its a lie that you two keep spreading :whoo:
thread title doesn't make sense. if ps3 was always online, we wouldn't be able to play anything when psn went down. :why:

edit: question, can you even use a media player without signing into xbl?
When PSN went down for a month, gamers all over the world was mad as fukk cuz they couldn't play ONLINE GAMING. You could still play offline, but online? No dice. People left the PS brand altogether, while the ones who stayed made daily post about how they wished it wasn't so. You included. There was a few weirdos like this guy

But even those weirdos began to crack. It was a glorious time, and if you recall that time period. You would recall how important online gaming is to the majority of gamers. Offline gaming isn't. There isn't even too many offline games coming out anymore. Even the ones that do, you hear gamers all the time say they don't even play it. Call of Duty, Battlefield players I see you :shaq: And what are the most popular games this gen? They all are online focused games. The entire purpose for online checks is so you can enjoy gaming w/out having to change anything. People thought it would stop used games, it wont. So can we move on? Nah, psfanboys gotta keep the focus off the fact PSN has no PLANS for improvement. No dedicated servers? :damn:

how does having an always-on console change anything when your network is compromised? i'll repeat, we wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING if that happened on an always-on console -- no games, netflix, apps, nada

Try to make sense when you fail at making points. Netflix isn't possible w/out online. Other apps that don't require online work, but most apps are online based. Games work fine as well, because after all you can't play a game without installing it first right? Couldn't the xbox just force you to have a game inserted if offline? Pretty common sense conclusion, but a fanboy probably wouldn't think things thru and rush to a conclusion :ufdup: Anything else you would like cleared up for you?

PSN went down, not XBL. And what XBL has done since then is improve everything like you would expect. ON the PSN side of things, since PSN went down sony has lost all control of PSN. If you would like me to provide a link I will give it to you showing that what I just said is true. Since sony lost control of PSN, they haven't spoken on it. Still haven't said a word about it. Neither has any of the ps3 supporters on this site. Rekkapryde, King Sun, Mowgli, anyone? Lets hear some commentary from the actual gamers!!! :popcorn:

:snoop:

your new xbox requires an internet connection once every 24 hours or you just purchased the worlds most expensive brick. so if xbl network ever comes across issues like the PSN hacking, it'll be useless until patched.

:laff: Ya'll ain't gonna never let that shyt go, I love this shyt

And just in case yall still hoping that the PS4 will be online require or checking your shyt every day.

Michael Denny on PS4's philosophy, future & building something both developers & gamers want | PS4, PS4 controller, PS4 Features, PS4 game streaming & Gaikai, PS4 Games, PS4 News | Official PlayStation Magazine

============

OPM: You talked a lot about service, tech and ideas; how are you going to present PS4 to a more casual market?

Michael Denny: So I think two of the other pillars we talked about in-terms of design were simplicity and immediacy. Even taking back a step from here, PlayStation 4 can still be enjoyed old school without an Internet connection at all. So it depends what level you want to use these feature sets at. So with ’simple’ and ’immediacy’ we want it so that everything is one button click away, for example. And ’immediacy’ takes down these barriers that can be frustrating to gamers between the player getting access to the content.

So your saying if ps3 had to be on all the time it wouldn't have got hacked ?? And wasn't that in retaliation for the modding guy getting in trouble
