I'll choose mask wearing and social distancing along with maintaining a healthy diet and plenty of exercise and sunlight. I have no pre-existing health conditions. I live in NYC and never contracted COVID. Your argument is a stupid fukking strawman argument that has nothing to do with being healthy or maintaining health. You're choosing the lesser of 2 evils when I don't have to do either. If it came down to it, I probably won't contract COVID, but if I did, I'm very confident I'll survive just like the majority of people I know who got it. One person I know died from COVID and they were in their 80s. Everyone else got it and got over it very quickly.
So you’d choose COVID. Your gamble that you don’t get COVID is essentially saying you’d rather actually get COVID than get vaccinated.
If that’s your choice then that’s your choice but why not face it head on? All the precautions you’re talking about are meaningless if someone you’re constantly exposed to gets COVID. At best all that social distance works when you have a brief limited exposure but when someone you live with or work with that you’re around for hours gets this it’s yours.
I didn’t want to get vaccinated but I took the shot the first chance I got because the odds say my chances of survival are drastically better with the shot. 160+ million have had at least 1 shot and under 7k of them have even got COVID after. This is over 8-9 months. Hell just yesterday more unvaccinated people than that were diagnosed in a single day.
I get that people say they don’t know the long term effect of the vaccine but those same people also don’t know the short term or long term effects COVID will have on them either.
Most of these people not getting vaccinated at the root of their logic is it won’t happen to me. They either think they won’t catch COVID or if they do catch it they won’t have a bad outcome. Over a long enough timeline if you’re unvaccinated you’re likely going to get COVID. That being the case why take any precautions? Why not just live life and if/when you get it you get it?
