If you own a barbershop then you probably pulling in 175k - 200k a year.

If you renting a booth and there consistently then you probably at least making 75k/yr.

It's $40 for a haircut nowadays.

Not all money is good money. Quality is why our teachers told us to be white collar.

Nothing beats spending your entire workday watching netflix and bullshyting in your air-conditioned office or working from home. Those blue collar dudes dont get this.

ACTUALLY NOTHING BEATS
JOB SECURITY WHICH IS WHAT
THOSE BLUE
COLLAR WORKERS HAVE.

Trying to sell the dream of blue collar millionaire life is no different then selling the dream of white collar life lmao

But most importantly y’all arent addressing 2 key things:

1- A lot of brehs can’t exist in a corporate environment. That’s not even a diss it’s just facts. I’m in the dmv. We don’t have to code switch. Where I work is damn near 50% black and nggas (and whites) dress however they want damn near. Unless you are in the dmv or NY and a handful of other places, you wouldn’t have that. So of COURSE y’all will see white collar jobs as the boogie man, and skew to ‘yeeea, fukk white collar. fukk college’. As black women are now lapping black men professionally

2- Ngga, I don’t wanna actually work! Nggas always romanticize blue collar like you aren’t literally getting your hands dirty and working crazy hours. Romanticizing ‘running my own business’ like you want be running your own business …and working much harder for the same bread

Oh and 3, you don’t have a 401k. Something all these modern anti-white collar brehs never bring up

Yes. I’ll co-sign the OP.

I’m an IT professional [low 6-figures], My homie is a Barber; He’s make more than I do barring incentives. The incentive I have may out-weigh his income; i.e. TSP [401k] matching, Health Care, Paid Leave, etc.

I’m proud of him. He’s striving in his lane.

Let's not forget it's still a mostly cash job, so they don't pay a fraction of taxes that we do.

I friend of mines had to show his earnings for a child support case. He showed like 20k a year. :mjlol:

Baby momma almost crashed out when she ending upwith like 300$ a month. :banderas:

The issue is a lot of brothers give up and turn to the street bcuz they believe only a corporate job can't provide them the life they want.

I never looked down on them after I started working and supporting myself for real. Its almost impossible not to see their necessity as an adult. Wherever you go whether its professional or personal you see them and you need them.

Once you get into the real world you see how useless or interchangeable so many degrees are. Colleges really need they asses beat, charging folks $100000 (on the low end now) for jobs that might net you $50000 a year or worse yet no real career options. And the fukked up part is you only truly peep game after going through it. So a lot of folks that may well steer their kids in another direction just dont know since they didnt go to college and they are still believing and perpetuating the myth.

I switched from white collar to blue collar a few years ago, and it is the best decision I’ve ever made in my life

I saw artificial intelligence coming a mile away, and I got out of its way

I’m going to Work skipping and smiling and while I’m working the time passes by so quick because this shyt is fun as hell

And anybody that thinks robots are gonna be able to do this shyt

Not everything is by the book and trade people while not being usually as Booksmart educated as college people
Have enough sense to know to screw over the robots by rigging shyt up a certain way to make them fail and that’s exactly what they’ll do

or they’ll take the robot to a area that doesn’t have cameras or to a high elevation area and that robot might just slip and fall 100 feet

Dudes turn to the street because they arent provided with opportunities. So many white fukkups, that arent cut for a cooperate environment gets jobs because of their dad or they inherit his company. So many incompetent white folks in executive positions, running shyt. So many thoughtful, well spoken, charming brothers in the system or walking around with felonies they caught in their youth.

Crazy how things have flipped. We use to look down at Barbers, Repairmen, Plumbers, Carpenters and other blue collar workers. I'm a 80s baby, a lot of shot for the pretty, clean suit and tie jobs. Luckily I got in the IT field when I did. But I have a older that has been cutting hair for 20+ years. And a cousin that's been a plumber and another that's been at a wood mill for 20+ years. All are balling. Been balling. I'm talking season tickets to the Saints. Nice homes and vehicles.

Another advantage I've learning from my barber and cousins. They're able to earn money on the side. Tax free money. I guess IT can do a little tech work outside of work, but you damn near have to be legit for people to trust you.

Who is “we”?

I never looked down on any of those jobs
