50% of gameplay is smashing triangle button...

Triangle is the button you smash to open gates, doors, put planks and other shyt. You also have to press it repeatedly, instead of just pressing it once to open the fukking gate. I guess it's supposed to be more immersive for players like you?

You also mash square button to punch away enemies in the cut scenes and in the actual gameplay.

In both those cases, you have to press one button repeatedly as if you are a dumb fukk. I guess that's the level of console gamers like you.

I finished this game and dlc both on survivor difficulty and I am not trolling.

So shut the fukk up. I am not gonna touch on the topic of over dramatic scenes catering to 16 year olds, maybe later.

First off :umad:

Secondly, what's your PSN?

This whole post is :troll: material. I'm not even gonna show you where you messed up your whole rant. Contradictions up the ass but continue to let us know how TLOU and UC getting super high scores makes you furious :pachaha:

Until you provide me with your PSN, i don't wanna hear it.

Story is neither generic or Zombie centered? What game you talking about breh?
are you joking? it has all of the tropes

  • friendly cannibals
  • humans are the REAL enemy
  • little kid is the cure
  • little kid bonds with the adult
  • people try to use the little child to cure the infection but the MC stops them
  • MC loses his family/loved one in the beginning
I'm probably missing a couple.

Must be talking about Left 4 Dead or RE cuz there's not a single Zombie in TLOU
Right, they're not zombies in name.

The cordyceps virus is nothing like a zombie. It mutates the human host into what you see in the game into several forms. A zombie is an.. undead person. Nobody in TLOU gets killed and comes back as a zombie.

Also your "tropes" list is cute. You can do that for virtually anything. Having tropes and execution aren't mutually exclusive. Any other developer can make a game with the same exact tropes and it can be a steaming pile of shyt. Then again, judging from your profile, you seem to be more of those ________ simulator players. Baldurs Gate is the GOTG amirite?
Half Life 2... My god best thing ever created huh?
Let's do it with Half Life 2
List of Science Fiction Clichés « Resources for Science Fiction Writers
Science Fiction cliche galore.

It's not WHAT, it's HOW. No game story is ever presented as "The most original story ever created." It's HOW it's presented and ways it grabs the player into suspending belief in their world.

yes a parasitic zombie, it's not new, it's been done before
Parasite Zombie - TV Tropes

Sure you can, just because a game/movie/show/book follows some tropes doesn't mean it's bad(after all there are only so many stories that can be told), it's just when it does follows a bunch of tropes to a T it can get kinda boring because of how predictable it is(like when they revealed that ellie was infected but didnt turn I knew we would eventually be saving her from some organization that wants to use her to develop a cure):yeshrug:, I'm not trying to shyt on one of your favorite games or anything it's just I heard from so many TLOU fans that the story is amazing and groundbreaking and I was a bit disappointed when I learned that it's just another zombie/post-apocalypse story.

Edit: btw, if you completed it on survivor....am I right in guessing you've played through the game at least twice?

The predictableness of that is just one aspect of it. To me, I don't watch many movies with these tropes so it's new to me. Also every movie doesn't have the same characters so it's not the same.

The character dynamic between Ellie and Joel was so heartfelt and warming. First they're not really caring for each other but merely just doing a job. After a while, Joel starts to develop a father/daughter relationship with Ellie because I guess he starts to feel obligated. Then later on Joel starts to see Ellie as his spiritual daughter since he lost his biological daughter. Again, none of this is "new" technically in any medium but the way it was executed and the conviction behind the acting made me forget I was watching animated characters on screen. When Joel was in that hospital about to save Ellie and you burst into that operating room and saw Ellie in there, i felt OBLIGATED to save her, I CARED. I got :mjcry: a few times playing TLOU outside of a cutscene. Just riding the horse around in Columbia with Ellie behind talking to her while the music is solemnly playing in the background and the characters are just.. talking. it felt so organic. It felt like a real Father/daughter relationship. At that point, I HAD to protect Ellie with all my life.
