Exactly. Ill give an example

Bianca Lawson vs Lupita. Obvious, HUGE differences. Skin color being the one in the forefront. They both are similarly slender, fairly curveless chicks, and both
are ridiculously beautiful. Lupita, on the other hand, never takes a bad photo. She quite literally has one of those perfect faces, the kinda that reminds me of when I was
a young boy and was smitten with Grace Jones

Now some people might say Grace Jones is ugly, just as some say that for Lupita, and thats opinion. Thing is, different strokes. I would say without a doubt that
Lupita is on another level of beauty vs Bianca lawson. She really has a timeless sort of youthful face.

The problem is, if both walked into the room, it would seem like sacrilege for anyone to prefer Bianca over Lupita, and would turn into a hateful "colorstruck" plantation
argument. There really is no winning despite what you do when it comes to Lupita. Either you are caping extra hard because it is rare for a woman her tone to get shine,
or you are c00ning because you aren't attracted to her.

Yes, I would pick Bianca over lupita, as I don't find lupita sexually attractive. Part of that is her perpetually short her, the other is her level of youthfulness is a bit more
extreme than what Bianca has on display, almost to the point of

I remember when Wesley Snipes and Taye Diggs were winning, LOTS of women wanted to jump them brothas. For the ones that didn't though, it wasn't a problem.
For men though, it seems we have to come up with 101 reasons NOT to like a dark skinned chick or else we look suspect. Thats kinda the trend im seeing.
Supporting BW winning isn't enough, we also have to want to fukk them. If im being blunt.
I don't know, there are no winners in the Lupita debate. Never saw a black woman
polarize black people so much:heh:
Exactly regarding bold. When some chicks are on twitter :noah: Over some light skin light eyes dude as a darkskin dude I'm not on some they don't like they dad flow like Ive seen too many chicks question dudes for esp if they are darkskin like myself. Even though I've dated women of various shades from light to dark. That's the problem but I feel girls on avg don't have anybody keep it real with them for them to believe the stuff they do on certain subjects. I also agree its like even if they don't want you they still want you to want and or fukk them too.

Hollywood likes her because she's thin, got dark skin, strong bone structures, and a shaved her head, a foreign name and the right attitude.... :sas2:

Which apparently gives her some authenticity and makes her beauty "exotic". Pocahontas, lucy Lui, and Freida Pinto got the same treatment when they first blew up.

Personally, I think she's got a cute face but there's nothing eye-poppingly gorgeous or sexy about her. a solid 7.

What 's fukked up is if she But if it wasn't for the fact that she shaved her hair, she wouldn't stand out.
she'd probably wouldn't get much work. With weave, she's just another black girl in America and in that context her skin tone and body composition work against her.

Personally I think that Lupita is an attractive woman. Her class and symmetry make her beautiful to me. I do not think that she is anywhere near ugly. As for being hot and etc I'm not a man so I would not know anything about that.

BUT

Whites have this thing where they have a flavor of the year for black women. Although I am Nigerian I see that Whites rarely use black American women as their classy beautiful woman of the year. They import them or use biracial s. There are many beautiful black American women (Meagan Good, keke Palmer, Gabrielle Union, Sana Lathan, Tika Sumpter, and etc. I don't pay attention to women so I'm not going to make a long list). We as a black people see the beauty of Lupita. There is no denying that, but whites do not see the beauty in her. They use her because it does not challenge white beauty in their world. They are basically saying, "Here is an ok looking black woman who will never be able to compete with our beautiful white women!". It's like they are clapping while secretly laughing at us. Again YES Lupita is beautiful, but by the way they were going crazy I could tell that it is fake on their end of the stick.
Another great example is Beyonce. I am not a man, nor do I try to tell men what they should find attractive, but the way white people were gassing up Beyonce was crazy. I remember growing up and they were talking about Beyonce being bootylicious, but personally I didn't see the butt (maybe it's just me?). Also they didn't start gassing up beyonce until she started wearing those long blonde weaves and hypersexualizing herself. Look at Whoopi Goldberg...At one point she was really loved and white women were applauding her? Why...She's not a challenge to their standard of beauty.
I remember reading a short article a few years back about celebrities who had great makeovers. When Beyonce first came out she would wear sort of afro centric hairstyles (braids, kinks weaves, and etc). The article said she looked better after she got a makeover and transitioned to the straight hair. I'll find the article.

Yes Lupita is beautiful, and I think that most black people find her attractive, but white people are trying to be slick with this.

That's like 1 of the most beautiful things about black women though: the fact that no matter the skin tone, weight, hair, ass size, chest size, face shape, etc, there's some black man somewhere thinking " damn she fine:banderas:"

Everywhere else it's different, you know what a bad white girl should look like, same for a bad asian girl or latina. There are magazines and beauty standards that say which type of chick is bad and which isn't--I mean, white women with big asses were universally considered fat/ugly as hell in the white community until recently.

Opinions about which black woman is :steviej: and which is:scust: are ok, but I'd hate to see people pushing some BS beauty standard on the black community.

Lupita? Haven't heard about her since 2013. My opinion is the same, I really don't find her attractive at all and when people try to compare her to Halle Berry:whoa:

Exactly. Some (black) people women can't see the forest for the trees.

Truuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue. I'm still waiting on @Milk N Cookies to come back northside so I can spit something proper:shaq:

On the real though, I dislike beauty standards because they compartmentalize women in such a way that it leaves out the things that are left to interpretation.

Read the comments in this thread. Its pretty much accepted practice that a sista with no curves is :scust:

"No ass" "No t*ts" Silly shyt. Or in threads where white women are on display, like the only way a white woman can be liked is if she has black features:dahell:

If thats the case, get the whole milk, not the skim. One of my sisters is 5'9 and for the LONGEST was self-conscious cause she was like a board. Just flat.
And dudes would clown her for that. Not every black woman has ridiculously curvy bodies and full lips and "fukk me" eyes. Anytime I see talks about
beauty standards, black men and women show their asses because they have a checklist of features they put in the forefront and if those aren't fulfilled, they
hit the :camby:Don't get me started on the retarded "She is average" meme. Most people are average:dahell:If we wanna simp regular chicks, what the fukk
is the problem? If im not walking around looking like Idras Elba, why do I have to find Kenya Moore attractive??? (I do, btw, even though she is a bird)

Lupita is beautiful, it's not like she's receiving praise she doesn't deserve. Personally I think it's important to recognize and acknowledge the beauty of darker women because it sends an important message to young dark black girls. Whereas skin color for black men seems less important media wise, the slant of media coverage of black women was almost exclusively on light skin women until Lupita showed up.

Imagine being a dark black girl and not seeing anyone who looks like you on TV/music/etc. Or if you did see someone who looked like you, they were in a bad role or the butt of a joke or "the help." I can't even imagine the mental anguish that shyt causes. When you go to school and dudes would literally jump over you in order to get to some light skin black chick (or white chick).

Thank god for Lupita and all the other beautiful dark women. Anyone who helps people feel better about themselves gets dap from me.

lupita was kind of forced on us though. she wasn't even picked for beauty. her breakout role was a dirty, smelly slave. lupita aint ugly by any stretch, but she's not even a top 20 chick in her home country.
