by default at my height, I was getting into head on collisions.

Beng a shorter player, I won most of those battles by default.

You know who is a perfect example of this? John Riggins. He ran with the most forward lean out of any RB in history IMO. All he gave you was helmet and shoulder pads. By default, he was getting into those collisions.

I hear you. I think creating an arbitrary rule like this for these shytty refs as it is really stinks....but I guess I'll have to wait and see before I go nuts.

If these bang bang collisions arent called and only a runner in the open field lowering his head one on one...I guess I could live with that.

No doubt I know how it can help a player on the football field. But my only point is it's not proper technique and it's dangerous. And this isn't speculation like "it looks like it could be dangerous". It is. We got muhfukkas killing themselves after retirement because their brains are fukked up.

Would you rather run head first into a brick wall without a helmet or with a helmet? Me? I'd rather skip running into brick walls altogether. :manny:

dog....their brains are going to be fukked up even if you're a Brian Westbrook ass niqqa NOT looking for contact. Even if you're Chris Henry playing receiver that had head injuries, you're head is going to get fukked up.

You're making running with your head down the only way to get fukked up.

Yeah, it's gotta be at some point we as people have to take responsibility for our choices.

That's the problem with the fukking world, everyone wants the benefits but nobody wants the responsibility.

We all know football is a dangerous game, you know that shyt the day you pick up a ball in your backyard and get hit,

We're such a bytchmade society at this point where everyone is a victim and no one is an adult who made a choice.

Have you ever played football? If so, when did a coach ever tell you to drop your head? In fact, that's pretty retarded. You certainly wouldn't do it without a helmet and the helmet is there for protection. It's not a weapon.

When have you ever seen a rugby player spear somebody head first? Stop lying. :rudy:

Breh, just quickly youtube like Rugby tackles. You'll see some brutal, head-in-the-chest tackles, sans helmets. Listen, I agree with the dangers of hitting with the crown of your helmet. You're not suppose to do it ... it can be life ending. My issue is with the way the NFL will implement this rule. If it's anything like the defenseless receiver rule, it's just going to be more subjective but game-changing penalties. There's a difference between players hitting helmet to helmet... which happens 50 times a game, and a player lowering his helmet so the crown of his head hits another player. Those are completely different.

Thanks

One of the GOAT truckings......

jacobs-truck-stick.gif

He hits Landry with his shoulder but if landry had been over a few more inches, and had more contact with the helmet, you're telling me this play could've been called back ?

naw cuz even if he was a couple inches over

we still woulda been able to tell if jacobs dropped his head

notice how he lean to the side. if he was using his head we woulda seen that helmet drop alot more

Why have any safety rules at all then? People are gonna tear their ACL's regardless so we might as well start karate kicking nikkas in the knee. That could be advantageous as well.

They're trying to reduce injuries, it's not even possible to totally eliminate them. One thing that would help reduce injuries is getting back to the fundamentals. Stop leading with the crown. It's very simple.

You wouldn't do it without this protective gear, then it should be easy to not do it with the protective gear. :yeshrug:

no his 230 lbs along with legs driving is causing you to fall back not his head

What if you're 230 pounds AND 5'11 and not 6'3 like Jacobs? Instead of his shoulder, Landry would meet the crown of his helmet by default.

The PHYSICS of the game makes it impossible to police that!!

yea ofcourse i wasnt arguin that

i wasnt even tryna argue the way they gone call the rule cuz even thats gone be hard

im sayin from a football player perspective droppin your head on purpose is dangerous and lazy

if you droppin your shoulders ofcouse the head gonna come with you too
but its more blatant when they droppin just they head to truck somebody

like you know them dudes that hit the hole its like they look up at the sky then drop they head straight down like a bull or some shyt thats what im talkin about

AD imo dont do that when he run it looks like he is tellin hisself to drop that shoulder when goin up against somebody
thats why it look like he just crushing nikkas out there on top of him running hard

I'm not going to call it "lazy" knowing that the flash of light you expect upon impact is anything but "lazy" but brave.

You bounce out a toss play to the goal line and you're near the pylon, they wont consider that the tackle box.

Key is they have the 3 yard pass the LOS stipulation, but what happens when you're at the 5?

It's a fukked up convoluted rule in a game with too many rules to begin with. More you need to interpret the worse off the game will be

The rule does not apply to short-yardage or goal-line situations.
