I understand where you are coming from(I disagree about guarding kobe I think they guard kobe because it is their job to guard Kobe) but answer honestly. From what you've seen this far from B.Scott do you want him as your future coach?
Let me put it to you like this. what i've seen from scott this year can't even count against scott.

Think about this. you have never seen a coach in this situation before have you? I know i havent.

Scott's To Do list coming from the Front office:
1. send kobe out with a bang(meaning let him do him, good or bad).. this also means let kobe be out there in the 4th to make a hero shot(even if he's bricking 99.9% of them).

2. raise the kids

3. Try to win games

4. if you can't win games. low level hush hush take L's and tank for simmons.
..
Then here's Scott's on personal To Do list as a head coach:
1. Win games - can't do that with this group
2. Let kobe go out on his own terms
3. Raise the kids- slowly
4. Do what the Front office tells me to do
5. Try not to alienate the vets that signed on by not playing them. So this means you have to give lou more time than you want to instead of playing the kids more mins. This means you have to give nick young some burn, bass, etc. hibbert. Those guys didnt have to sign with us. Remember that. In addition the NBA is a brother hood. Everyone looks out for everyone unless you're a complete A hole lazy dude. Meaning, i've seen mitch put guys on our pre season teams that he knew was not going to make the team. but he did so, so they could get a nice big stage(lakers is big stage) look. So it means they will get a good job that season from other NBA Teams or Overseas. This is what coaches do for vets in a situation where they have a team full of kids. It's not like Lou will, bass, hibbert, Nick young are trash. they're solid players for what they are good at. Notice sacre and black are not getting much burn at all. you know why? because overall they suck. sacre moreso then black.

^^This is why Scott has had the most difficult situation i have ever seen for a coach. This is why i can't even count the bad in this season against him. because some of these TO DO's are counterproductive to other things on the list. You can't have it both ways all the time. Lucky for him, kobe is a teacher. So even when kobe is in chuck mode he's still willing to teach the kids. So they wont get to mad at him. the only people mad is nick young. you know why? i think he's on the last year of his contract. and he wants to get a chance to shine to get another decent contract. Sorry nick, you had all last year with no kobe to ball out. and you bricked out. sorry bruh. and i like nick.

With all that said. What scott is trying to teach the kids is actually playoff basketball. It's similar to what mark jackson did with the Warriors. Which is why even they gave their old coach props and so did kerr after they won it all. maybe scott is the guy to prepare the kids. and then another guy takes them to the next stage. maybe he can take them all the way once they grow up and we get a nice FA or two.

Look around. dont you see the kids developing? I DO. look at how good randle looks, look at clarkson(who knew), look at russell coming out of his shell. and even we have seen glimpses from Lance Jr.(this is why they play Bass at center.. to make room for nance JR at PF but no one knows this. you have to pay attention to detail friends.)

OH and to that other point. They are guarding kobe out of fear of him going off. If you want to see the difference. watch how they guard Metta when he's at the 3 pt line. they just let him shoot. Watch how they guard any young unknown player in the nba that isnt that hot. They really dont bother to guard them. they start playing free safety defense. clogging up the middle, etc.

cotdamn @rapbeats ouchea turning me into a lakers fan..
broke that sh!t the fcuk down
:wow:
i aint going to lie to you. i'll call it like i see it. since i've been a fan of a winning team for so long. i know what it takes to build a winner. it takes time. unless your rookies are shaq, magic types. fresh out of college destroying everything in their path.
most people are not like that. and if your guys arent ULTRA athletic. its hard for casual fans to see the improvement since its not a sportscenter highlight. i mean look at JJ Reddikk. i was rooting for that white boy with that wet shot. but he darn near sucked in the league. dude had a butter shot. he had to wait years to get under the right X's and O's to help him look good. you see im now with the clips. dude looks pretty darn good. thats not doc per se. thats doc's assistants giving Reddikk Ray allen plays. pay attention. while the other teams he played for prior were waiting on him to score on guys 1 vs 1. not going to happen.

Reactionaries, lol :mjlol:
lets see isnt that what we all are when we talk about top rookies? pretty much.

but what have we seen with Druss to think this is a fluke and not more of a trend? well look at his trend line. its trending up and has been. it started slow but kept going up slowly. where as other guys in completely different situations then him trend lines shot up. but has stayed stagnant and some have started to trend downwards slightly.

a very smart player with high skill level can surpass guys that are Ok basketball IQ guys with a lot more athleticism. but it will take time for that to happen. high intelligent guys and high skilled guys last longer in the nba usually. due to the fact they dont have to rely on their body as much. Its mostly mental to them. which is how nash could ball so long with such a bad back. if lebrons back was that bad from day one. he would never have become KING JAMES. same with dwade and those guys are highly skilled and smart. but not as highly skiled or as smart.

I didn't mean this from a Ws and Ls standpoint, I meant it from pure potential, defensive schemes you've seen, and offensive sets

can we even tell? I mean old man kobe is out there chucking trey's like he's in his backyard with one of his daughters. thats not going to be the offense going forward. shoot, he didnt even do that as much when he was fully healthy and young. i mean the guy is just chucking and having a ball doing it right now. and i aint hating, he earned this right. So again, What offense?

Defense? lol. a bunch of kids, hibbert, and old man kobe that cant guard anyone. aint no way you can play legit defense like that vs a any legit teams. aint going to happen. you can hope they miss. but thats about it. any legit team will work that ball around, set a few screens and the lakers would be down by 20+. you've seen it.

thats not scott. thats personnel.

Thibs couldnt change this defense THis year with this group.

Defense is about personnel as well as Sets/schemes, etc.

depending on your roster there's certain things you can and cant do on defense.

the reason gstate is decent on defense is the same reason jordans bulls were great on defense and the wade/lbj/bosh heat were lock down on defense. when you have a bunch of guy sapprox 6'7 to 6'10, all athletic. all relatively strong and sturdy(no push overs). you have a situation where you can switch on everything. you have the foot speed to trap guards, and jump(double) bigs.

when you say have pau gasol as your big(who was decent on defense) with say Derek fisher. you better not try to trap any of these quicky guards. you're one pass away from getting torched. cause gasol cant get back in time. and fisher(old man fish) cant rush up on the quicky guard fast enough to make him pick up the ball.

So someone will say why doesnt all Front offices just pick up a bunch of 6'7 to 6'10 athletic guys then? Nope. cant do that either because most guys at that height are small forwards/PF's who cant shoot, and are not that bright(low bball iq). Gstate has lucked up and found multiple SF/PF guys who are highly intelligent on offense and defense. and highly skilled(can shoot and dribble with either hand).

most guys in that range are not that smart or well rounded. so its personnel.
scott has a bunch of kids that were not known as defenders in college. so its going to take a few good years before they understand man defense then TEAM defense.

what i do like about scotts offense. i mean his real offense. what he would run if the rookies were a lot older and well versed in the nba, while not having to roll with so many old aging vets. i like the Princeton offense. Because its a READ and REACT offense just like the triangle.

there are no exact set plays to be ran. there are options. if the defense plays you like this, you have these options to choose from.

That takes highly intelligent guys to exploit. which is why the bulls(mike and nem), kobe/shaq, kobe/gasol and crew won so many titles. the entire team was smart, down to the role players. all the guys knew how to exploit the defense by exploiting the offense. its hard to game plan for a team that doesnt run exact plays in certain situations. This is why i said Scott is training these young boys for the playoffs. not just to win regular season games. i like Mike D'antoni. But lets keep it 150. his offense is great with a great offensive team DURING THE SEASON. there's a reason he never seen the finals. That offense becomes predictable too. everyone and their great aunt knows the high screen is coming.

so the moment you hit the playoffs where everything slows down and the stat geeks can slice up your playbook and breakdown everything you do. certain teams will get exposed.

We wont be able to assess B scott until next season when its all 2nd and 3rd year kids. no kobe. no old men on the team slowing the offense and defense down. we will start to see what scott is made of. if we by chance get some REAL Free agents( a star or two). we will really see how good scott can be.

lets be clear. there's a reason scott won coach of the year with jkidd and the nets. sure he had jkidd a hall of famer. but doesnt every coach of the year have one? at least one that goes to the finals.

people like to say but but jkidd got him there. oh really? jkidd couldnt do that for the suns. jkidd couldnt do that for dallas.

i mean jkidd and Kmart were in the finals. not once. but twice. some props has to go to scott for that.

scott had CP3 and Dwest fighting with the lakers. even though we all knew all those laker teams were WAYYYY to much for them.

you give scott a roster. scott will make that roster cook. you see Cp3 now under DOC. you see how anti-clutch he has become. dude is darn near a choke artist at this point. how does that happen? he wasnt making those last minute mistakes under scott now was he?

Pay attention to the details friends.
