Sorry breh, but this team is far away because of the fact it's built around Dragic, who is a good but not great player and he's turning 31 next month. The window for this team with him as the go to guy on offense is maybe 2 more years where he can play at this level, then you'll have to hope that Winslow / Waitiers / Johnson or Richardson can step in and fill that role which honestly doesn't seem likely.

The Wiz, Bucks and Celtics are all young teams who are right now on a similar level as the Heat while also having a lot more room for growth because their best players (Giannis, Middleton, Wall, Beal, Porter, Thomas etc) are under 30, or in the Celtics case they have other avenues to improve with lottery picks.

The Heat are in no man's land right now, sort of where the Hawks are where they have a competitive team but you look at the roster and nobody really jumps out at you.
A 31 year old point-guard is far from old. You can get more years out of a point-guard than any other positions. We can keep Dragic until his contract expire. He is an essential piece of our offense that speed up the pace and has gotten better in half-court sets. The additional plus we get from Dragic is his compatibility with Waiters. Those two have a great chemistry. If I was Pat would take the chance to keep them two together. The Heat can give Waiters a contract that isn't expensive but attractive enough to keep him here in Miami. At first I wasn't able to see the upside the Heat has due to the first 40 game; we were in the bottom of the east. And we had injuries.

The Heat should continue to bet on the core players it has and make some minor changes to make the team better. We are not far off from being a successful team.

Signing Waiters would be smart and one less hole we have to try to fill. He's only 25 so it's a guarantee we'd be getting his best basketball years. It's a no brainer but some of these cats like females with their vendettas against him and I have no idea why..Literally all he did was come in and work.

A big part of Dragic's game is his quickness and attacking the basket, those skills won't be elite at 33. I understand he doesn't have that much mileage, but Father Time is undefeated, look how Tony Parker is playing like a shell of himself at 33. The Heat need so many things to go in there favor JUST to come out of the East.

If we make the playoffs next year, I hope to God we face the Bucks, so this team gets exposed for what they are which is treadmill.
We'll see how great Dragic and Waiters are when they're constantly guarded by 6'5+ players who can match them athletically.

The Paul Pierce Nets and 2011 Bulls beat the Bron Heat teams in the regular season, and we all know how that went in the playoffs

Plus the Bucks all have players who have yet to reach their prime

Let's see how great Whiteside is in the paint, when he has to be on the perimeter since Thon can shoot

Winslow would definitely lock up Giannis, after all Justice is only 6 inches shorter than him

Dragic and Waiters trying to score off pick and rolls only for Giannis to guard them off the switch

I thought we was talking about individual numbers. And its a game of matchups..You cant say dont keep Dragic or Waiters because of a matchup vs one team :what: that's silly.

Look to your cousins in the West, Clippers fans are hoping for a first round loss, because they know it needs to be blown up to be built again :sadcam:

Lettuce hold hands with our Clipper brethren as we hope our teams get those L's they rightfully deserve :to:

I'm sure Dragic would be able to keep up with Wall just fine

Butler on the Celtics wouldn't be too bad, after all that would mean 3 wings(Butler; Crowder, Bradley) who can effectively guard Waiters

Dragic isn't Parker. He is much skillful than Parker, and is a better shooter. He isn't going to fall off like Parker unless he encounter an career-ending injury.
