despite what you may think, there are politics and bureaucracy to this. its not all "shoot randomly at people for fun". Gangs are in their own ecosystem with diplomacy and all that you would expect from a country... the only difference here is that instead of continents, everything is based around street corners within cities. its all done on a smaller scale and yet still manages to be rather complex

I don't expect anything to be done about this stuff until it affects white people.

At a certain point though excessive talk on WS is basically giving those criminals an excuse. The truth is we don't hold our own accountable. Accuse me of being a cac, label me a c00n, but there's not enough collective outrage at and accountability demanded from these savages. I look at Chicago and think its their daughters, their cousins, their sisters, their nieces having all these damned illegitimate babies who grow up and become criminals. At the same time its their sons, their nephews, their cousins, their brothers, their uncles, who are terrorizing those communities. But we love them
oh it's definitely up to us to correct it. Naming the problem and identifying the source of the problem allows you to fix it. If you keep treating the symptom (the tempeture/killing) you won't get to prevent the source of infection (white supremacy).
It is very important that we identify what this is doing to us, we cannot shy away from identification of the problem. Diagnose then treat the symptom and work on ways to cure the infection.

issue aint ever gonna be solved by policing the city. this is a pure social-economical issue. Gangs should be seen as a representation of the state of social regression because gangs at the core are just a modern form of tribalism (wouldnt even say modern since gangs have been around for more than a millennia, but whatever).
to fix this you need better schools, better afterschool activities, more local role models for lack of a better turn. fighting this sort of complicated issue with oppression only breeds more violence and other such things due to gangs originally forming as a direct result to oppression in the first place
but go ahead and keep asking for the national guard to be sent in at the behest of a fukking cheeto. see where that gets us

And how did LA and NYC get their shyt together? They increased policing, it was that simple. You know Chicago has 1000 less police officers than a city of its size should have at the minimum?
How is that different than whats happening now? It just doesnt seem logical to be afraid of what could happen and totally disregard what IS happening right now...

I agree, but let's be honest, the national guard and the feds tackling the violence in Chicago and patrolling the streets will do more harm than good. The collateral damage in this situation is from young men shooting wildly. They will be charged with a crime and sentenced. The collateral damage from the national guard will be from militarized police forces shooting at will at anybody they assume is a "criminal risk" (ie, black and male, or just black), they will lock up anybody they will assume is a "criminal risk" and won't see any jail time from the aforementioned because being involved with the federal government/armed forces gives them the impunity and privilege to evade prosecution for their wrongdoings.
THAT"S THE DIFFERENCE.
