Man Dallas do have some racist cacs but let's not act like they didn't frame 5 black men in NYC for rape, or Rodney King didn't get his ass beat by laws on TV in LA bruh. You black bruh, you can encounter that shyt anywhere. Boston is the most :mjpls: place I have ever been in my life. Honestly as black as Chicago is I was shocked how segregated and divided racially it is. North and Southside of Chicago was like night and day to me.

what was your experience in Boston?

Boston felt like if you wasn't lily white, you really don't belong there. Felt like white european culture was promoted and pushed everywhere. They celebrate a bunch of white boys, and always seem like they don't even want to have a conversation for any reason with you there. Like all they sports heroes even are white, and sports icons in cities are usually black most of the time. It was just the most unwelcome I've ever felt anywhere, I never went anywhere I felt comfortable.

Dallas don't have creoles like that and it really was never as country here to us like that. Dallas is southern, but it isn't THAT southern bro. It kinda has a midwest vibe to it as well as a southern one, along with a little Cali as well in recent years. Houston is true blue southern bruh, I'll give it that it is a true southern city. Dallas is not, it's a melting pot.

Ehh Dallas is more Inland upper south like little rock or nashville so yeah that ain't within the "creole sphere", hence the "hurr thurr" accent vs the gulf coast "hea thea" accent Houston has. Houston's foundational black culture is largely a mix of rural southern louisiana and rural texas(creole-cowboy shyt) in an urban environment.

Still even though y'all technically ain't within the pineywoods yall still gotta lotta pineywoods influence(think Texarkana), plus we share East TX BBQ and black Cowboy culture. But, you find A LOT more authentic black bbq joints and black cowboy culture in houston than dallas. It's a shame that it ain't been preserved up there like down here. Especially when your premier sports team is called "the cowboys". lol

I've always felt Boston was high key :mjpls: I never really desired visiting it.

Oddly enough I've been to Salt Lake City which is nothing BUT white and I actually felt pretty comfortable the times I've went. I thought it would be somewhat racist but my experiences have been the total opposite.

I stayed in West Valley City which is right next to Salt Lake for most of 2012 and I agree. I never felt any kind of tension or animosity from them wierd ass white folks ever, not one time.

lol Dude, even the whites who don't act like Paul Wall are influenced by black culture every time the local news or radio station uses the word "H town". Even the pop(white) radio station 104.1 has a daily news segment called "around h town".

So, yeah Houston's dominant culture is definitely African-American despite AAs only being about %23 of the population. H-town Mexicans are probably some of the most black influenced Mexicans in the country right up there with Chi & Bay area Mexicans.

Not only that, but it's seems like Houston AAs seem to be much more in tune with their hertiage and culture(juneteeth, trailriding associations, black heritage rodeos, creole heritage fest etc etc) than Dallas AAs. Which is funny because Dallas has old black communities and freedmens towns just like Houston.

Facts! Ive been around Nortes and Texas mexicans take the cake. I've told yall that even Central TX (waco, killeen) got the most Mixed (hispanic woman/black man) ppl i seen in my life and I'm from L.A ! like the young crowd 16-30 is for the majority part, cliqued up . Blks with hispanic last names and vise versa.

Nah, da w2llas is one of the most normal places ive lived.

Jackson, Missouri? Strange Energy
Tulsa Ok? Strange Energy
Franklin, TN? Strange Energy

Dallas is normal, kinda like Charlotte with all the transplants.

But alotta c00ns here

Whole Bible belt is Garbo.....

Too sparsely populated hence the outright ethno-seperatism.

That's cause despite the large hispanic pop. There's never been a true "chicano" culture down here like in LA. Tejano culture is centered in South TX, especially in San Antonio. And Texas chicano culture starts WAAAAAY over in West TX like El paso and shyt. American born hispanics have always looked to us for their culture.

Houston's AA population is much more established and influential. Even our oldest catholic church is older than their's.

MLK day parades are definitely bigger than cinco demayo parades in Houston. And juneteeth festivals is growing larger every year.
