Dame can be difficult as everyone knows but he was spitting knowledge about the "Boss Vs Employee" mentality. A lot of blacks because of slavery up to this day have been programmed to have the Employee mentality. It got so funny when he started wilin out about talking about Jay.

I just think he wanted to have a legit good time and talk about shyt, but nikkas keep bringing up jay. Dame was smart enough to curve that fast and pull nikkas card and in the process he dropped gems.

They tried to play Dame though and make it a "Jay Z" interview. He caught on quick with Charlemange wearing the Hat and T-shirt. Dame obviously has issues with "Roc Nation" as it's basically "Roc a Fella" the remix. Again I felt him on the business aspects of the conversation. And yes he sonned all of them. It's just as you see, he gets emotional when he talks and his voice starts to raise. If he could just get more anger and vocal control, his points would be well better received. Nobody likes to be screamed or barked on. But Dame was dropping gems.

Im a black business owner and Dame speaks so much crap it would be laughable If not for the fact that people actually listen to his nonsense...

he reminds me of these prosperity preachers , 20% truth 80% bullshyt...

The funny thing is anyone with half a brain would rip his arguments to shreds one by one and expose him for the nonsense he spouts.... he reminds me of people like Mos Def and Lupe who spout nonsense in hip hop interviews and then the minute they are interviewed by journalists who have a degree of intelligence end up looking like fools.....

dude just makes himself look more and more ridiculous as time goes on

There are usually special programs for immigrants to get business loans

Black people not walking in a bank with trash credit and getting a loan. Even if there was some loan company that would dead with you, the rate and terms would be ridiculous.

They didn't get loans because they were immigrants. Secondly banks are not the only places to get a loan from. Lending companies do exist, although not the most obvious, that will give people a good deal. The entire example was just to show that most people are not risking their own money up front to start something. The dude was lying or just has zero clue how even the smallest business owner will look to reduce risk and leverage money.

The biggest issue in the Black Community is that the Wealth we created in American History wasn't able to be passed down to generations after it cause of Slavery, Racism and White Supremacy. We came here in chains and worked on the field. We've been programmed from the beginning to "WORK" and not "OWN" meanwhile in Africa we had Kings and Queens who had entire Kingdoms. I think you have to start somewhere in a capitalistic society so everyone is going to have a Boss at some point.

But I had to think for myself and say, "If I stay in corporate america, is that really going make my life good in the long run"? Freelance and having your own company is difficult, nobody said he was easy. But I would rather work for myself than be stuck in a 9-5 where the company determines "IF" I get a raise or not based on budgets. Unless you are owning a business outright I think you are always going to have some "Boss" but the question is what do you get out of it. If you are freelance or an independent Contractor you are now setting your pay for jobs, you are in more control of your finance. Again there's no easy answer especially for Blacks in this country but we have to start believing we can have our "OWN". I mean didn't Dame and Jay do that with "Roc a Fella"?

What an ignorant perspective throughout the whole interview... Capitalism is a class society, by definition, not everyone owns their own means of production. Not everyone can be a "boss." Yet, ironically, it is the working class that produces everything in society. Under capitalism, labor is subjugated by capital, even though labor is prior to capital and creates it.

Already feeling like this might be in the running for GOAT smiley. That reaction :wow:

To everyone speaking about generating wealth: We all agree (I hope) that is important. It's a goal to get rid of the culture vultures and own our own stuff. Nobody is trying to deny that message. What Dame is telling you though - a message that sounds good with no actual sense behind it - will leave you in ruins. If you seriously want to be the boss of something that is great. Just take classes in business operations, investment principles, and finance. Not only to understand how money works but to see how Big Business really fukks people over and avoid those pitfalls.

You can find free courses on Khan Academy and Coursera. Investopedia has a series of tutorials that will at least get you comfortable with the concepts behind investments vs savings and the financial securities that make up both. There a thousands of youtube videos supplementing that knowledge too. All of this is free information widely available that'll help you to be a boss far quicker than a radio interview.
