Are you really comparing a round of mini golf to putting someone on in the rap game? :snoop:

You keep talking relationships as if Kanye's relationship with him didn't sour the minute Jay-z's did....I am just going to keep it moving.

Its a metaphor.

That being said, what do you want Kanye to do? Put money on the books of a shadowy figure in a rap label who even in 2009 was dumb enough to stay in the streets moving weight?

NO ONE outside of the ROC knows anything about Biggs. So how can y'all really claim to know his relationship with Ye like that?

Yes. Rawkus was the vanguard of a movement you 12 year old nikka. Actually Kanyes foundation was Kweli Mos and Common. Blueprint was his biggest success, but he brought the two worlds of hip hop together. Kids that hated commercial shyt knew Kanye well from his work with 3 mentioned and Do or Die and Dialated People's etc.

You cacs have no sense of hip hop history. Hope Jay Electronica shows up with FOI and slaps some of you nikkas

no disrespect to rawkus but youre not bridging any gaps on that label.

i think thats the point homie was getting at.

Breh he ditched Dame completely. As if a Kanye beat/collab wouldn't have helped post roc-a-fella with any of the artists he was still working with.

It's not just 'one good thing' as if he bought him lunch one day. As the head of a successful rap 'label' Dame Dash is the one who put Kanye on as a rapper. Up until that point he made beats for D-Dot and himself because people didn't want to give him a chance, like Jay-z.

The relationship soured because he shunned Dame to hang out with Jay-z. There is no way to take up for him on siding with the guy who didn't believe in him who all the sudden did vs the guy who brought him on.

Just leave it alone.

That dude would obviously sell out his own brother for riches. You can't argue with people like that. I had people in my life look out for me to get me to where I'm at. Crazy how some people are built in a way that they can :pacspit: on those people without feeling guilty.

Jay and Dame made all those Rocafella cats make a decision.
Kanye was the most coveted piece so he was able to go where he wanted....he saw the problem w/ Dame and did what helped his career.

The fukk is he supposed to do? Keep rolling w/ a losing bet?

and to add to that, people might not want to admit it but the majority of kanye's fanbase doesnt even listen to rap like that(yes, even in 2004), let alone backpack rap.

Damn....a lot of people in here are slimy azz nikkas. Almost makes me want to be slimy irl because what's the point in being a good cat if everybody greasy. I can see why people get fukked in business.

A few things I saw in this thread:

1. Dame/Biggs did see Yeezys talent first.
2. At the time, the Roc cosign got people to listen to Kanye. Rap was gangsta then and Kanye was this soft kid in tight clothes who rapped about conscious topics. Hell, Through the Wire was very very lukewarm when it came out. He ain't get that official stamp until All Falls Down and became a huge star with Jesus Walks.
3. Yes. Dame did help Kevin Harts career. Kevin is from Philly. Dame put him on "Paper Soldiers", which helped raise his profile considering he was a nobody then. I'm guessing the people in State Prop helped Kevin Hart get in that movie seeing they're all from Philly.

That's it.

connecting more dots ... i ain't know until recently that Dame produced the soundtrack for that Nicky Barnes joint

thats what he wanted initially I think either him or talib confirmed it on juan epstein

Em initially started out flirting with rawkus records....if you think that without "biggs" Kanye would today be some no name MC/producer today, you've been in a coma for the last 12 years. The roc signed 'ye, because they recognized a potential cash cow. They gave kanye a shot's worth of attention and opportunity, and he turned it into an ocean.

I'm not understanding how biggs would be in a position to need anything in the first place...dude should have had plenty of legal money on the books, he only got 5 years, and he gets out in like a couple of months ...to have dame out here essentially begging people for dough on his behalf just seems like a bad look

This has nothing to do with Biggs, and is just another sad chapter in Dame's pathetic vendetta against nikkas that have long since moved on in life. He's been psycho ex girlfriend status for a minute. He cant stop talking about jay n ye...
