I'm saying that most because old PGs don't just slow down - they straight up implode. Suddenly and violently. Dame's got way too many miles for any team to meet Portland's asking price *and* absorb the risk inherent to the contract.

Anything could happen yeah... but any practical window for moving Dame has slammed shut. Its only fukkery deals from this point on.

I know that we just went through Russ and Wall getting traded despite having supposedly untradable contracts, but his is ESPECIALLY tough to trade, I think. I mean, even just getting the salaries to match up for the trade might be tough for a lot of teams in general, let alone ones in position to contend. He really might be stuck hoping some team is cool with trading for him, and then buying him out on over $100 million of his remaining contract value.

I really just don't understand that last extension. If you know that Portland is going to have to essentially pay a Portland tax to sign anyone, why would sign that crazy of a deal?

He wants to compete. He just wants to do it in Portland which annoys everyone who isn't a Trail Blazers fan.
Why can't he recruit anyone to come to him?
Nobody is forcing him to move.

Portland is a fine city, people got players to worse places that are also cold as fukk too.

Also don't think him playing there annoys anyone, Giannis doesn't annoy anyone, Jokic doesn't annoy anyone, nobody annoys anyone for choosing the team they choose. But if Jokic starts bytching on a monthly basis for a decade straight about him not joining Luka and Kyrie, so he can't win - then he'll annoy people.

This is what you people don't understand :snoop:

Him being more predictable than the content of a Birdman verse regarding him choosing to staying in Portland is what annoys people.

Portland isn't landing a big name free agent and if they draft someone that becomes a superstar the timeline is way off lol. He will never win a ring playing in that rainforest.
