Fine hold them accountable lol I don't care. Either way he needs to leave and it should be obvious but he's actually willing to rot in that organization instead of taking control and leaving. That is still insane.
Blazers are 32-43 and in the 13th spot. They're three games behind the 12th slot and five behind the 11th spot with just 7 games to play, and the 10/11 teams only have 6 to play. They would have to go 7-0 to end the season and hope both OKC and Dallas went 1-5. It's been over.
If it wasn't for the play-in then they probably would have shut it down 1-2 weeks earlier cause they would have had to pass the Jazz, Mavs, Thunder, Lakers, AND Pelicans to make it.
Even with Portland out of the running, there are still 9 teams fighting over the last 5 slots with every single one of those teams needing every single game. It's crazy to watch how many games matter to the playoff picture.

In his prime he played around 77 games/year and got around 47.4 wins/year for Portland, playoffs every year...
This is the second consecutive year he's going well below that 77 games, second consecutive year they are missing the playoffs. The reality is Dame, like other older stars around The League, is declining, and the tell isn't to look so much at his play. Like Durant, he's still crazy productive when he plays...
The tell is to look at the increase in injuries and missed time for a guy who was 77 a year over an 8 year stretch. Dame is a declining player and it's time to move on...
If you're the Blazers you could keep him if you think you could put the appropriate pieces around him, sure. But it's probably a lot easier to just rip the shyt down to the studs, the haul you'll get for Dame will accelerate your rebuild. Echoing others, it's best for both parties. Find out a list of preferred destinations for him, and this summer work on negotiating among that list to get him outta here...

I'm not gonna treat him like he's at-risk youth or something either. The penalty for Lillard staying is that he gets supermax money from a team that loves him and they remain somewhat competitive.
The penalty for trading Lillard is that you got rid of the best player in franchise history against his wishes and now you're gonna be in an endless rebuild where you can't even really commit to the young guys already there since there's a good chance none of them will be around when you're good again. By the time the Trail Blazers are "back" they'll have a new GM, new coach and maybe even a new owner. Once Lillard is gone, all Portland CAN do is protest, do meth and rally around the Timbers or something.

Brehs really tryna blame the front office as if Dame hasn’t been their hostage willingly. As loyal as Kobe was to the Lakers, it took him threatening to leave to get the team back on track.
I’d argue that Dame’s overly loyal stance added no incentive to an already mid front office and less than desired FA destination. Why be worried when you’re not being pushed by your most valuable player?
We can agree that the super team era deserves its criticisms but some of that era was born from terrible front offices and players deciding to take matters into their own hands. Dame could’ve done what he had to do without doing the most like Bron and KD did but he was more interested in what his IG followers would think. Now even if he gets moved it’s still a dead end because the team he goes to would be gutted.
