Malwarebytes

Free bitdefender is the other program u need if u have no antivirus.

U need a mail address to register free bitdefender so use a disposable email address from www.mailinator.com

These days u need to wear 2 jimmies. An antivirus and a malware scanner

Who cares. Just protect yourself. you're on the internet. Since I started using this combinations my infections are managed automatically. Dead on arrival.

If your cpu is sill high after cleaning you have a service or third party app causing this Which requires other steps

Everybody saying Malwarebytes may be right, but you also need something to monitor your cpu temps. It may he getting too hot. I just had to re-apply more thermal paste to my cpu cuz I bought a new gpu and it didn't perform right. Turns out my processor wasn't performing because it couldn't handle the load with temps at 80C IDLE!
If you can't figure it out, open the computer and check the thermal paste on the cpu

what are my options brehs?

if I wait until windows 10, will that update cure the problem?

should I reformat to factory? if I do this is there a way to keep my game save files?
whats the best port of call the fan is going crazy cpu usage on a 100 and this is as soon as I start the pc.

whats strange tho is graphic intense gamers like assasins creed will still run fine once I get into the game, but apps like chrome n IE will hang.
Reformat and start over. Next time be careful what you install. Use ublock, ghostery on chrome and update your windows defender.

my windows defender is always updated which is odd, you wouldn't recommend deleting the malware? also if worst came to worst and I had to reformat, could I keep my game saves?

You can open a Dropbox account and throw the saves in there. Your documents and other important stuff in there and reformat.

Malware scanning takes up too much time and not everything is found. For me reformatting is an optimal solution.

@Mowgli yo I got my first help desk job. It's 50k a year bit it's only for two months until the fiscal year re starts. I don't really give a damn either. It's on the resume now so I'm officially in the game. I'll just find some contractor work if I don't get re hired.

For the T/S, When all else fails, reformat your hard disk and re install windows. And you should be able to backup your game saves on an external piece of hardware. Then run a virus check on that external hardware before you plug that shyt back into your system.

side note, is it better or easier to save PC games on an external hard drive, kind of how I do with xbox one
I don't because sometimes the content loading from the external drive to pc. Can be slow depending on the game. If it's very graphically intense like gta5 An external install will probably hurt your frame rate.

For games like fallout 3. starcraft. And other last Gen games it shouldn't be a big deal but u wanna use your usb 3.0 port and if possible a solid state external drive for optimal performance.

Personally I wouldn't rely on it but if I had games that were not resource hogs I would use it
