Heavily consider the severance package if it's aggressive enough. Of course that depends on how you feel about working for this company after what transpired.

I'd update the resume ASAP, and throw it up on workopolis, see what pops up - doesn't hurt at this point. If the severance can buy you some time to take a vacay and come back to a fresh job somewhere else, then that might be a good option.

Updating resume and applying

I have a meeting with hr tommkrow to talk about the jobs I can redeploy to, severance I doubt will be big I think it's 2 weeks for every year? Ten weeks like 2.5 months pay

I'm a senior at my position and will now be some level 1 padawan dude in other groups.

And for a living lets just say I work for a company that deals with lawyers and the courts

I feel you. I was with a "Big Box" retailer for 7 years in a mangement role, went through 3 major restructures. Escaped them all but had me wondering how many more to come. That's when I started looking elsewhere and landed a management position at the Law Firm I'm currently at. That's the main reason I mentioned consider the severance, helps buy you some time (especially to take a vacay which I never did either, like you.)

Otherwise, just make best out of the new position and re-gain your Seniorship.
