Yeah Future one of the more popular artists at this time. Makes sense.

Crazy how he's more popular than Big Sean.

Never thought my GOAT would get this big :mjcry:

If women like your music, you can sale. Got women singing along to Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross on my Facebook timeline.

But when I play some of my friends Ransom or Ar-Ab they don't want to check them out, and Ar-Ab, Mozzy, and Ransom is all I listen to these days. Would love if they could get some mainstream success.

Compare those numbers to 15 years ago when nikkas was doing 600k, 500k, 200k, first week, no streams, just physical copies. They ain't lying when they said there's no money in Hip Hop anymore

For the labels there is no money.

Rappers are unsigned doing shows and making money.

And that is all that matters.

One of my favorite rappers is Mozzy and he is unsigned.

This.

They had to come up with another way to count "sales" because people aren't buying albums anymore. But the streams shyt is corny. I want to know that someone went out and actually bought my album. These dudes make literally pennies off of streams. They're giving out gold and platinum plaques now for streams because albums barely get to 500K now. It's a joke.

Yeah that's what I ment. Artists' not getting huge advances, and big budgets for their album anymore. That's one of the reasons why a lot of of them are going independent now.

Word, it is corny. I don't even know how the streaming stuff works to begin with :francis:

Plus they trying to sign them to those awful 360 deals.

As much rappers I've seen making money while being unsigned, make me happy that hip-hop is going to be alright.

Social media era killed the hip-hop record labels.

I'm just happy rappers are making money.

Even dudes who do Nerdcore hip-hop are making money from shows.
