Them stats are funny style. When the last time you seen Indians and Asians in the suburbs in great numbers? Not saying having you have to have a big 5 bedroom house to be well off but, you should still see some people living that way. I’m just saying you go to any nice suburb and you gonna see a ton of white people but its rare for me to see a family of Indians or a family of Asians or a family of Arabs in those areas. I’m always shocked when I see a Chinese family out and about I live in Delaware, and have lived in Philly, Maryland, D.C., Georgia and Tennessee before for reference A lot of these Asians are either stacking up together multiple generations deep in the same house so they’re goosing those wealth statistics or they’re getting money but chose to live beneath their means.

ive never seen another group of poor people spend their last on expensive clothes and shoes like us. ive seen poeple who were working class from other groups try to flex a little, but i have never seen any other group generationally very down bad in the projects but still trying to flex like us. there is something psychological going on.

My favorite subject. A couple of things to point out here

• (legal) Immigrants tend to do better economically than native citizens in general. This applies to all ethnic groups. For example most African and Carribean immigrants are better off economically than ADOS. The reason being is that it's very hard to immigrant here legally. So the ones that do, are often either the most well off, or the most driven from their home countries.
• Asians tend to cluster in northeast and West coast. While most blacks are in the south. The north and west are expensive but you get what you pay for as they also have the best education systems and access to the most high paying jobs. The south is cheaper which is why it appeals to black ppl, but it also has garbage schools, healthcare, and the lowest wages in the country.
• Education is hugely important to asians. Because they know it's the only way to go from lower class to upper middle class. A Chinese immigrant in NYC will live in a shoe box but will make sure their kids do well in class in order for them to go to an exam school and eventually an ivy. Then that kid will easily get a 6 figure job and move to a nice suburb and from then on they're pretty much locked into the upper middle class. I think this is the key. We should be doing everything we can to either live in areas with good school districts (and yes this probably means living amongst cacs) or the try our best to get our kids into top colleges. Also majors matter a lot. Our college attendance rates are actually pretty descent but we tend to pick trash liberal arts majors with low job prospects, instead of going the STEM route like asians do. So a lot of blacks end up graduating college with a shyt ton of debt only to work in a job that they didn't even need a degree for. Which fukks them over even more.
• The next point is that asians tend to be dual income households. There's numerous studies which prove that children just end up better when they're raised by both parents in a single household. In asian cultures, marriage is something heavily pushed and divorce is looked down upon and shamed. It sucks if you don't like the person but the end results don't lie. Looks at how Indians go ham for arranged marriages, and then look at what their rank is in the chart above.... It speaks for itself.
• Asians aren't afraid of multigenerational living. For one it gives married couples free childcare so they don't need to pay for expensive ass daycares. And two, when a person is done with high school/college, their parents don't immediately try to kick them out. They let the kid build their wealth and gain their footing. So they can start saving for a house and build capital without having to worry about rent. Also keep in mind the grandparents here, don't really work and if they do, it's low wage work like nail salons, or a Chinese restaurant. So these won't really be pushing the needle all that much.

Honestly the blueprint is right fukking there. Yeah WS will always be an impediment but there's nothing that the asian community does that we can't do.

Facts. I was shocked when my boy from HS mom was telling him he had to look for a new place or pay rent to her after we graduated HS. He was already enrolled in community college too. I was over his crib and his mom was giving a speech about how he was freeloading and was an adult now. Coming from an African family i was like

Having another group of people you can exploit matters.
Not being the #1 target of oppression in a first world country matters.

Its been brought up before but a lot of it has to do with there ability to network among themselves and the help they get when they first immigrate here

Also a big piece is folks are comparing the best of the best of their country leaving their home and coming to America.

Often times these folks are highly educated or highly motivated or business owners in their own country coming here.

A person traveling 8 to 9k miles to go live in a foreign country most likely aint coming here to play around. They are coming here to be successful.

You just can't compare that to folks born and raised here who been here for generations and generations and generations. No matter the race.

Its like when you travel overseas and see an American. Usually they are successful in their own right. They are usually there for business, job or cause they have family (excluding vacation). They ain't some lazy bum off the street who was living on they momma couch with no job who said. Hey let me move to china, europe or africa.

I actually did a thesis in college of the income disparities between Mexicans, Hondurans, and Colombians. Colombians tends to be highly educated and tap into their social networks before immigrating to the US. They are still lower than Nigerians but Nigerians tends to follow the same pattern.

Plus Colombia is the US main vassal states in Latin America

This. I'd bet the Asian households almost ALWAYS have 2 or more adults. Black households likely average less than 2 adults plus we have more kids than most Asian groups (I think).

We obviously have room for improvement but these kinds of studies aren't that informative. On top of that, most (not all) Asians that make it to the U.S. were well educated and middle-class or higher back home. Their population gets self-selected.........and they also tend to live in the highest COL areas (SF, Seattle etc).

I'm mostly on about high school. They either make a break you as a young adult. Yes, all students must focus well in school, but I ain't going to ignore the favoritism and bias they give against black students. If a great margin of children aren't doing well, did the school really do a good job?

I think a lot of Filipino women are nurses. Thinking back to high school and college, the Filipino kids were always pretty well off tbh. The stereotype is that they're poorer but I never really saw that. Vietnamese kids were more working class. Chinese and Koreans did OK but Indians seemed the "richest"....especially in college. All of them drove nice cars for 19-year olds and seemed to take nice vacations during school breaks. Not even with their parents but just randomly be like "let's fly from DFW to Tahoe" just because we can type shyt.
