but how did he NOT see the car sitting there when he's driving and can see what's in front of him, dude was speeding and didnt even notice the huge chunk of mass just sitting there???:what: poor ass reaction time speeding like an a$$hole... even on the darkest parts of the GCP you notice something sitting in the middle of the damned expressway... :what:

as someone who got into a similar crash 10 years ago when a drunk driver with no lights on spun themselves out on a highway….stopping is nearly impossible when you’re doing 80mph barreling down the highway towards an object you don’t expect to be there. I was completely sober.

woke up to firefighters cutting me out. If it wasn’t for an army vet getting out of his car in the middle of the highway… and using his high beams as a stage light so he could slow down cars…I doubt I’d be sitting here typing this (horrible punctuation included).

instead of driving around the accident and going on about their day like the sociopaths in this video he coordinated all the cars to form a wall of hazard lights around us.

Oh really, I don't remember seeing myself in the video. You know jack shyt about anyone's driving ability on here breh. Some dudes get by on luck and chance and think it's talent. You sound like one of those.

You said the crash was caused by negligent drivers, that's clearly not the case

you said visibility was poor, that's clearly not the case because the camera recording is crystal clear, in low visibility conditions cameras do not work well

you're an idiot, and you need to get off the road ASAP

dudes sleeping im guessing

whatever cop was there did a poor job illuminating the crash scene
My question is why didn’t the cop get and setup road cones. That would slowed traffic and diverted it into another lane.

Damn, that was painful to watch, it was even worse knowing that an accident was coming.

I don't know if this one just resonated with me or I'm getting older and more responsible but I don't think I'm going to be speeding anymore. I stay bucking it when the road is clear but I don't want this to happen to me :lupe:

Pretty sure it's not a cop, it's one of those nightcrawlers who drives around looking for incidents like this to record and sell the footage to news stations.

I'd bet they saw this coming and didn't even call the cops until it got bad.

How is the camera argument even a fukking issue when there is literal low light setting on fukking cameras? Are you that fukking stupid?

:dwillhuh: how you going that fast on a freeway not seeing the car crashed right in front of you?!!?:what: Your supposed to slow the fukk down!!!

Firstly, calm down and stop being so emotional. It’s blurring your common sense and logic. You literally answered your own question in the bolded. They didn’t see them while going freeway speeds, BECAUSE they were traveling at freeway speeds. And rightfully so. THEY ARE ON THE FREEWAY.

Secondly, it’s not nearly as easy as you think it is to see a dark crumpled up vehicle in the middle of the hwy, especially at night, especially when you don’t expect it, especially at highway speed(which, again, they had every right to be doing, hwy speed). People smash into disabled vehicles in the middle of the hwy every single day, even when they HAVE their four-way flashers on. Why? Because at that speed, it’s not the easiest thing to gauge. Especially, again, when you do not expect it.

It literally just happened a few weeks ago in Durham. A young sista came up on a vehicle overturned in the middle of US Hwy 70 between Raleigh and Durham. She got out to help them and was killed by another motorist who just didn’t see them until it was too late. IT HAPPENS.

Thirdly, if you need proof(for some odd reason) of just how difficult it actually is to avoid something like that, just take note of how immediately after the crash, with what is now TWO crumpled vehicles in the road, one WITH it’s lights on, ANOTHER vehicle still almost runs right into them and has to swerve and skid at the very last moment. Happens right after the initial accident if you go back and look at the video. The very same thing you think is sooo easily avoidable, literally almost happened again seconds later.

You can also pull up countless, I mean hundreds and hundreds of thousands of YouTube videos showing just how hard it is to avoid hitting a stationery obstacle sitting in the middle of the highway. DAY OR NIGHT.

It’s not as cut and dry as “wHy dEy aiNt sEe tHem?!”…breh. Relax.

I’m marveling at how multiple Random beefs, on a car accident thread, that no one here was involved in, on a Tuesday, have extended this thread into a potential plat for all the wrong reasons.
