only people who have scored more points in a season than kobe in 2005 was jordan (1987) and wilt (several times). so no, they've not had better seasons. but then again, you let someone named john hollinger tell you what is a good season and what ain't.

He was much more athletic in 03 than he was in 06. That doesn't mean he was a better player. 08 Kobe wasn't as athletic, but he was a better decision maker.

I used to think so but after looking back, i think in 06 he conserved his athleticism more. there are times in 06 where he looks every bit as athletic as he was in 03.

I agree. Kobe was probably at his height as a scorer in 05-06 but he was his height as an player in 08.

Decision making is one of the most under appreciated aspects of a player's game.

he just had better players in 08. nba players usually peak at 25-27. athleticism is at its best and you've been in the league long enough to learn the ropes. by 29, the downward slope begins. kobe was going down in 08, not up.
