What's your definition of "middle ground?" Some streetness, some squareness? Why does every breh HAVE to have a little street in him? Why do so many nikkas think that having street characteristics is something everyone should strive for? It's so ass backwards it genuinely makes me lol. Then mfs wonder why we in last place.
I'm good on that. Y'all can continue to be 30+ years old worried about whether other grown men think you're "hard" enough.![]()

I didn't take @10bandz comment the way you did, and I also have a problem with muhfukkas who are excited to tell people "we" are in last place...
But I do agree that there are too many black men that aspire to have this "hood" persona. It's not for women, because most women don't give a fukk about that kinda shyt. And to be clear, I dont think not being a street guy means someone is a square or living a square lifestyle, because there's square ass nikkas outside...
This infatuation with gangsterism is endemic to us because it was taught to us and we were taught to think of ourselves in this light. But it's unnecessary, and the dudes who ain't like that but still wanna demo with a little toughness are the worst...
I agree with you 100%, I’m the last nikka to glorify street shyt and I’m trying my hardest to get my nephew out the streets right now. But since you are being more reasonable I’ll give you my take on it. Like you said, there’s square nikkas outside. There’s nerd nikkas out here taking risks. And there’s nikkas from the street who are living completely clean lives. There’s a middle ground. Most nikkas aren’t 100% thugs or 100% square.
In my life personally I own barbershops. 90% if my barbers are (former) street nikkas. nikkas from
BPS, Inglewood, Pacoima Piru, etc. I deal with these nikkas on commission. It’s a cash based business. You think I can come at these like “hey y’all I’m a square lame! Please don’t skim off the top”. NO. I’m not a street nikka and they know it, but I gotta come at them firm, let them know I’m not with the bullshyt and that I’m watching every dollar like a hawk. I’m around the same age or younger than these nikkas too. So I gotta approach in a way that lets em know I’m not no dummy and they can’t pull no shyt on me. And I’ve never had a problem. And the one time I did have to press a nikka about something we were able to hash out like men. Now does that make me a street nikka no but it also means I’m not no square lame cuz they would’ve been took advantage of me if that was there impression of me.
to buy a house when I was younger my pops had to borrow some money off the street for the down payment. Was he a street nikka no but he had to take that risk to move my family to a better area, and he paid back in full on time cuz he knew what time it was. Square lames on this forum would never that chance.
there’s examples everywhere of people navigating both sides of the spectrum. Street smart and book smart per se. @360Waves has shown a big disdain for street nikkas and street culture on here so many times that’s why I dismissed his response off top cuz i knew he was reacting off that emotional disdain.
Lowkey this is probably how it happened. Wouldn’t be surprised if they were high on all types of shyt also.

I knew I could go away for 20-25 years. I ran 10 hours away and went and got a quick job to try to make up some money for the sit down. I'd retained a lawyer already and kicked out most of my savings for the retainer + whatever that next fee is...
I was on the run 11 days, the plan was I was gonna turn myself in after 4th of July in The Bronx. I'd been in constant contact with my lawyer, who was in constant contact with the detectives and the DA, and it was at my lawyer's advice that I would turn myself in. He was like "sooner than later", and I believe I told him I'd be back in July, it just didn't work out that way. Only made it to June 26...
Those hours and days go fast though...
Historically it means very good dope. When u cook/stir it drops straight down to the bottom of the pot with no residue. Hood pharmacist type shyt.
