I mean, he’s mostly right. There are certainly some self made millionaires out there, no doubt about it, but a lot of them do well by using monies that were previously allocated for them. Imagine having 200k to invest when you graduate. Or like Trump touting a “small,” million dollar loan that he got in the 70’s. I think it’s more commonplace than we give it credit for.

No one here is arguing this, we are arguing it is much easier to achieve that if that is your starting point, which is true. Comparing a normal individual to someone like Dan Gilbert is stupid.

The billionaire kid who fails will still live the billion dollar life. Regular people don't get to fail, rich kids like Dan Gilbert can fail several times.

You asking normal people to achieve the same without the same money, resources, and opportunity to fail is unrealistic.

Bringing up someone had a much easier route is not a knock, it is reality.

Fail your way to success, every time you fail you learn something. Use that something and improve. You think Dan or any other billionaires never fail at things. The difference is they keep trying different ventures. You want resources? Find a group of people that want something, find that something and sell it to them. rinse and repeat until you get resources.
