Ogre stick is something, I guess. Though I doubt it is just a prank. Ogres in general have great strength and considering how Okarun's athleticism has grown over the course this makes sense.

I highly expect it is the Aliens that stole the hammer. Unless it is something more unexpected.

I'm pretty hype to see how the ogre stick will work. I like that even without Momo's crib, the group finished a mission with a meal in the nurse's office instead. The post-fight meals are always fun.

I won't lie, I'm hoping this hammer detour is quicker than the flight was. We haven't gotten nearly enough of the OG crew being together, particularly Momo and Okarun, since last arc when Momo was in the boardgame.

For episode 2 of Season 2, this episode adapted chapters 38-41. Very faithful to the manga. Of course, with the anime original addition that was shown last week of Okarun transforming when losing control.

To also note unlike Acrobatic Silky the Evil Eye stuff is more 1:1. Which is still great because I don't think there was too much they could do to elevate it unlike the Acrobatic Silky flashback.

One thing I am curious about is if we will ever see the oneshot that is shown at the end of volume 5.

I remember seeing the prescreening and getting so hyped at the point that this episode ended. Of course then the movie continued, while obviously here we got to wait till next week.

Every time the action from the manga gets animated, it makes me hype for what's down the line. The combat has looked sooo clean!

They nailed the Evil Eye backstory too.

I really can't wait for the Kaiju arc.

This chapter was interesting. As great as Tatsu's art is, his faces are probably the weakest point of it. Granted it still much better then the average of manga artists. This guy looked way too similar to CSG, but it clearly isn't. Also, from what I recall, CSG was against the Seporians since he seems to be above the Kur.

So what is this guy's aim is? Especially consider he was bowing to Seiko at the end of the chapter? :jbhmm:

Also seeing a theory of there being multiple CSG's.

I took the bowing as some kinda formal "I challenge you to a duel" thing, since Seiko and CSG's twin brother look isolated in the last few panels. I'm a little frustrated at how nerfed Seiko feels this arc, but then it's been part of the story that she'll be much stronger in her own home territory, so I can't hate.

I feel like we might see Okarun and Momo both get real upgrades after spending this arc mostly powered down. The ogre baton seems like a start for Okarun, and I bet Momo comes out of the ritual with more than just a return to normal.

Well, keep in mind it has been stated before that Seiko borrows the power of the gods' land. I can only assume because this is an emergency and she is out of her normal realm she doesn't have access to the power she did before.

Yeah, I remember it from the turbo granny arc. She had to get Turbo Granny to cross into her territory to take her down. I assume that's what we're leaning on to make this work...it's just her lack of recovery that bothers me. We've seen Momo and Okarun get beaten up as bad or worse than the bull fight, and they've popped back up without much more than a bandage.

For Episode 3 of S2 Chapters 42-44, as well as the first few pages of Chapter 45 were adapted here. Not much to add here beyond how insane the animation & music were used here. Great stuff.

Damn, the fight was well drawn.

But man, Seiko is getting her ass beat. I kind of expected Evil Eye to show up, but his appearing when he did was hype. Considering that Seiko calls him the Smoke Yokai, but also calls his powers a sham. I wonder if this means that he basically stole those powers? Rather than an Alien associating with yokai. Could he be an alien who stole Yokai powers already?

For S2 episode 4

  • This episode finished adapting the rest of chapter 45 and chapters 46-48.
  • Great episode all around. Music choice is excellent as well.
  • Really hit home on the fight & really nailing the emotional impact of the hug at the end between Okarun & Momo.
On another note, these 4 episodes could have been structured as a movie. I remember the first 3 episodes flowed so well when watching them. Undoubtedly they knocked it out of the park again.
