I'm glad they have everything lined up to make season 3 a complete adaptation of the Globalist arc :ohlawd: we'll probably get it the same year (and maybe even same season) as the Culling Game, the discourse is gonna be hilariously toxic :laff:

Very interesting chapter. On a character front with the airing alongside it, it shows how the Evil Eye has slowly evolved. Just of him caring Seiko to the side and covering her was a nice touch,

The idea of Evil Eye & Jiji swapping is interesting. Jiji has spiritual powers, while Evil Eye is physical. This is a matchup that Jiji is more suited for. With a big note that after the Cursed House Arc, Evil Eye was nerfed. This really makes the potential combo of Jiji & Evil Eye really intriguing.

Yeah, I only remember that cursed underwear going over the Evil Eye arc wiki for this anime season :heh:

It also goes to show you Seiko really is a sitting duck whenever she's out of her territory. I wonder if she's gonna stay more once they are back.

This episode adapted chapters 49-51. As well as the first page of chapter 52.

  • Man the real food used in this episode was tripping me out. Wasn't expecting that.
  • I love seeing the reflection of both Evil Eye & Jiji in the cup depending on if it was hot or cold. You even got a Jiji type of face on Evil Eye xD
  • The handholding scene was adapted perfectly. It matches a lot of awkwardness that episode 5 had in S1. But here it showed how slow time was moving for both Okarun & Mom.
  • The example of the Hayashi performance is anime original. I knew I didn't remember it from the manga as I was watching it.
  • Slow the slow mode before Jiji transformed into Evil Eye and wreaked havoc. Though the anime did felt it moved too fast into destruction, but not having as big of an impact as the panel from the manga.

I don't think any manga/anime does the downtime better than Dandadan. That was basically a zero-action episode, and it still felt like it flew by.

Really interesting chapter.

  • As expected with Evil Eye in the state he is, he is more like a tank and physical attacker basically.
  • We know Jiji uses spirtiaul energy from before, but like Momo he can be key in fights like in this chapter. Although Jiji's abilities are like Momo is effective against both.
  • The really interesting part now is that beyond swapping between him & Evil Eye, they are merging. I do wonder what the drawback is here because in concept this seems like a giant buff for Jiji.

I was wondering when Jji would level up and combine power.

Good fight so far

Chapters 52 and 53 as well as most of chapter 54 was adapted.

  • They really expanded on the Hayashi performance in this episode. Really excelling at adapting it to the anime medium here.
  • Most of the scenes were getting expanded in this episode and given more time in general. Momo seeing the visions of Evil Eyes Past, Aira getting ready & Momo's friends hanging out with Okarun before they visited Momo.

It's super dope how the anime and manga have aligned. The anime is just making appreciate JiJi and Evil Eye's "friendship" more, and it's making the manga chapters payoff even more.

The rock out scene was hilarious, and it made me think...Dandadan's music is elite stuff. Both opening tracks are flames, the piano number from the Acrobatic Silky episode is seared into my brain, and this rock and roll track slapped too. It's just an additional selling point to go with everything else that's great about the show.
