Let me upload the observer radio from last night Meltz was copping pleas like never seen.

Basically he said the only reason they don't push Bryan to the top is because Orton and Cena does better on the house show circuit. So crowd reactions don't matter if he ain't drawing better than who's already there.

The "yes" chants dont mean sht for the bottom line...its like the "what" chants back in the day. Its just something the fans like doing, but there isnt much substance behind it. Had "fans" responded to DBry's push last summer with ratings even holding, much less dropping significantly, then you would have a great argument for revolving the show around him consistently.

Batista popped a huge rating...the "fans" have spoken.
So what about the response on the WWE facebook page and twitter last night? That wasn't the "fans" responding?

And during the summer the show was revolved around HHH & Randy Orton and their little stable.

He hasn't gotten that. So any ratings talk is pointless to me.
.

Of course its pointless to you...WWE's bottom line doesnt affect you. It obviously matters to others.

Even if DBry's "fans" didnt agree with every single aspect of his push last summer, not watching at all crippled his chances of being the man. What point is there to push him if he cant deliver a good number? Had they boosted the ratings, then he would have all the ammo in the world to demand a push. His "fans" abandoned him, lol.

The point is that DBry does not have a strong enough base of support to justify making him the centerpiece. At least not now...perhaps in the future. That said, his fans are doing him a great disservice by going out of their way to ruin shows. Its just going to make things harder for him, because at the end of the day the company does not need him.

I heard that shyt bruh. It's the chicken and egg argument.. "we won't push him as a top guy if he doesn't draw as well as the people we've been pushing as top guys for the last decade." :what:

they don't put Bryan in the main event because they say he doesn't draw as well as Cener, but he doesn't draw as well as Cener because Cener has 9 years of being pushed like a wrestling God (no JBL) while Bryan is booked to constantly look like an idiot at every turn.

Yep. That Jeff Hardy Argument was weak too.

The TV and PPV numbers with Cener/Orton on top arent any better.

Cener has been on top since 2005. They were getting ratings in the high 4's back in that era. Now they're in the high 2's-low 3's. There's about a million and a half less people watching RAW every week then there were when Cener/Orton/Batista got on top. Buyrates are literally about half of what they were during that time period. Live attendance is awful now as well.

This isn't about Cener and Orton drawing huge numbers. This is about the fact that millions of people have STOPPED watching WWE over their nearly decade-long reign on top. WWE is so scared to lose the remaining people that are still hanging on that they are afraid to change anything up now.

weak as hell. Jeffrey was a monster baby face as a tag team long before the Triple H singles feud so he had a head start to work with. He was a major player during the most popular time in WWE history. No comparison to this situation at all.

The fans are doing him a disservice by cheering for him? I don't get this backwards, defeatist type logic. The people who have spent money are being vocal about what they want to see. Your thinking is "well that's just going to make the WWE bury him in spite!" Well, that kinda makes our point.

We know that the WWE books based on their own agenda as much as they do week-to-week drawing. Do we really need to go through the history of the title and pick out the various guys who weren't over, didn't sell merch, didn't bring fans to the shows, but got a chance to run with the title?

Thing about your Cenas, Ortons, Batistas - they were all cemented when it counted. As R=G and a ton of other people are pointing out - they got their big wins at Mania, they got dominant lengthy title runs, they were heavily protected, they were clearly booked as the face of shows for sustained periods of time.

What ruined the show last night wasn't paying customers showing support for who they clearly came to see (isn't that drawing?), but rather the lack of imagination, stale personalities and poor to mediocre match quality (except for Bryan, of course).

Batista's rating was due to a return after 4 years :what: You're not realy gonna use that are you? You know damn well that's not gonna hold week after week.

I dont know what you want me to say...We cant argue against reality. There are consequences to an unproven act like DBry being given the ball, and there being a corresponding significant ratings drop. Batista popped a huge rating, and they're going to go with him for the time being. Its simple mathematics, like Mos Def said. Dont confuse me for someone that is supporting Batista over DBry...I like DBry considerably more, but Im not being unreasonable either.

The same fans that lose their shyt and complain when something like this happens should get in contact with WWE and let them know how pissed they are... and make sure and include the URL of the illegal stream / torrent site they used to watch the show.

:russ: "This is an outrage! I'm not getting my money's worth!"

Oh, wait ...

If Batista maintains that rating, I'll fall all the way back.
And therein lies the tricky part: if ratings spike/carryover from last week it will likely be due to the controversy of the RR ending, not so much folks wanting to see Batista. This will be tough to prove and we will see all sorts of goal post movement. This only favors Batista at this point.

well yeah, he's gonna get the benefit of Mania season business, which is also why it's all funny. :heh:

I agree, I was disappointed that Bryan wasn't in, but they hadn't hinted at him being there at all. The crowd shytting on it ruined a bit of the feeling.

WWE never ever mentioned Daniel Bryan wasn't in the rumble
