I can answer this one.

The misconception that people have is that every team out here can or wants to a sign and trade. It’s not that easy to pull off as 1. The player has to agree to it and 2. The new team has to have something of use that the original team would want in return.

Why would Kyrie sacrifice assets that could help in Brooklyn just to help out Boston? Especially with the obvious disdain that he has towards them and the fans..
Bingo.

So the whole “he lost these players for nothing” sheit is stupid. Dudes signs 2 of 3 as FA and trades for 1, and when they leave as FA suddenly he didn’t get anything for them.

smh.

I’m dying reading all these responses acting like this is something that Nets did to him, or that this is some rash decision.

There is zero chance this is a recent decision. His was clearly a well kept secret going back a ways.

There is no way a Woj bomb drops about maybe he wants to retire to 2 hours later he has, his replacement is hired and they are looking for a new coach :russ::russ::russ:

I’d love for a Coli executive to come explain to me the math on how he was supposed to get something other than what he got for those 3.

The only one people can complain about is Hayward and the supposed “could have gotten Turner and McDermont from Indy” and guess what….Hayward got more money from Charlotte in the 11th hour and went there and came out and said so, so I’m not sure how Ainge has gotten blamed for not ‘making that deal’. The player has to agree to sign there first lmao.
He actually screwed up the Hayward trade to Indy

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Is not out the Norm to name someone a GM with no prior GM experience. Stevens is a coach and knows weakness and strengths of players all around the league, it happens all the time. Black or white, if you know the game, to some teams you can be a GM.
He is also a leading analytics guy, with a big analytics team around him, hoping that he can be the successful version of Morey.

KD flat out said that he agreed to the sign and trade with Brooklyn as a favor to help out GS. Russell only said yes as he wanted the bread that he wanted.

If either of those players say no, then the sign and trade never materializes.

I kind of feel like if Stevens gets the majority decision on the new head coach, we are gonna end up with a young, ex player with passion, that will rally these kids and let Tatum and Brown ball the fukk out. Ideally someone that can inspire aggression out of Tatum, the sky really is the limit for this kid, regardless of other teams making adjustments. I really think Tatum, with how easy the game looks to him, if he can fully embrace that mamba mentality, Jesus Christ
