Let the kids enjoy their shyt, i don't think any responsible adult should be able to relate to drill and it's artists cause it's definitely not relating to me in any way shape or form. fukk I look like jamming to teenagers MDK carols while I'm dealing with actual factual life. This drill shyt will have an lasting impact on their development but a hard head etc....

I’m from the bay, some local classics came from hyphy, but I could fess up as to why others didn’t fukk with it, but some NY folks too proud to call unappealing drill music what it is.

Why do ya nikkas get on here and just say anything?

U don’t listen to this shyt stop with the dumb ass bullshyt assumptions. What UK slang nikka? Since when have we used UK slang? Do you even know what UK slang is? These nikkas have their own slang. They don’t even use “thot” like that anymore.

Nikkas don’t even use UK producers anymore it’s all homegrown. What Chicago or UK drill beat sounds like this? Link it nikka.

NY drill has broken more artists and nikkas is doing more numbers than whatever irrelevant place you from that you ain’t even repping.

good god almighty, that is hot trash :why:

that's the worst song I've heard in 2023

you seem like a logical poster besides your bias towards today's nba, why do you want to die on this nyc drill hill?

I shoulda said NYC.

Joey Badass and STEEZ was the only ones from Pro Era to have any real success and it didn’t really smash the game. The rest of the artist you mentioned got slammed for not sounding like NY.

And Griselda ain’t NYC.

NY hasn’t had a popular sound since the early 00s. And I say this as someone who loves NY hiphop
NY drill got people in Europe getting sturdy

The song itself no I don’t think its hot trash and definitely not the worst of 2023.

Bouba has improved tremendously as he’s aged and I love this style of production. The kid Baby Omertà is new to rapping but his voice has potential and he was talking although he’s not all the way on the beat.

Given you don’t like the new NBA you coming off as the many 40 year old dudes on here who hate on everything new. In those NBA convos dudes are giving all the facts and do the same shyt they’re doing here double down and juelz.

R&B sample slapped on top of a sped up vogue dance off beat ... wow 🤣🤣
Would you prefer another piano trap beat or do you not listen to anything new?

It’s impossible to not like the main melody of Sexy Love which is the whole backbone of the beat.

It's funny we're getting to the point where millennial rappers start to sound old. I like both artists, but the arrogance for Danny Brown and Jpegmafia to be saying this is insane, hater shyt.
Things go in cycles. (Word to Q Tip) That’s why it’s funny when younger people criticize the older folks for being mad at their music. You’re going to be there soon lol. I knew shyt was different when Bonecrusher was out here being mad at music saying how it ain’t like it used up be lol

what's cooking in the city really would vibe more with folks familiar with everything we grew up on

you know in terms of diversity there's very few stateside spots that have so many vibes in one location

subtract the gang politics & get them fully focused on music it's instant hits that connect across the diaspora

it's okay if some folks from the states sleep we got international links

Where? Europe? Toronto? This year alone I went to East Africa, South Africa, Belize, S Korea and Brazil. Every time the local kids or I brought up rap we mostly discussed the same names Kodak, Lil Baby, Drake, Durk....In the lounges/clubs when they did turn on rap it reflected that. A youtube video of a few random kids isn't real lived experience on the ground.

the "few random kids" are the artist & trendsetters

they tend to pay attention to what's next more than the common consumer

mainstream stays behind on what's actually happening

not saying your perspective isn't valid
