A look back at Darrelle Revis' six seasons with the Jets:

April 28, 2007 -- The Jets made a bold move for Revis, trading up 11 spots in the first round to select him 14th overall. It was pricey; the Jets gave their first-round pick (25th), along with second- and fifth-round picks to the Panthers.

July 26, 2007 -- Revis is unsigned and doesn't report to the first day of training camp. The disagreement centers on the length of the contract. The Jets want a six-year contract, standard for players selected in that slot; Revis demands a five-year deal.

Aug. 15, 2007 -- A 21-day contract dispute, marked by acrimony, ends with Revis signing a six-year, $36 million contract. The Jets appease the Revis camp, however, by including a "voidable" in the deal, making it a four-year contract if he meets easy incentives. The actual contract is 47 pages because of complex language.

Sept. 14, 2008 -- After a solid rookie year, Revis holds Patriots WR Randy Moss to two catches for 22 yards in Week 2, the springboard to the first of four consecutive Pro Bowl seasons.

Sept. 13, 2009 -- Revis begins what would become his best season by holding Texans star WR Andre Johnson to four catches for 35 yards in the opener. Week after week, he shuts down some of the game's top receivers. He's magnificent in playoffs, recording two interceptions. Rex Ryan calls it "the best year a cornerback has ever had." Revis is named first-team All Pro and finishes second in the voting for NFL Defensive Player of the Year. After the AFC Championship Game, GM Mike Tannenbaum tells Revis' agents he wanted to give him a new deal, making him a Jet for life.

July 26, 2010 -- Things turn ugly. After a nasty spring in which Revis feigns an injury in practice to protest his contract situation, he refuses to report to training camp, violating his contract. It triggers a five-week holdout that turns into a mudslinging contest. It also becomes the central plot in HBO's "Hard Knock," which documents the Jets' training camp in Cortland, N.Y.

Sept. 5, 2010 -- Revis ends his holdout, agreeing to a four-year, $46 million contract. It includes $32 million in guarantees. Essentially, it's a one-year extension from his rookie contract. Tannenbaum calls it "an intermediate step" toward what they hope is a long-term contract. Revis' camp paints it as a "Band-Aid" contract. A week after signing, Revis tells NBC Sports he wouldn't be surprised if he stages another holdout the following year.

Sept. 19, 2010 -- Revis pulls a hamstring while getting beat by Moss on a long touchdown pass. He ends up missing three games, admitting his absence from camp likely contributed to the injury.

Sept. 11, 2011 -- In another spectacular season opener, Revis makes a game-clinching interception against the Cowboys' Tony Romo, an emotional win on the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. One month later, Revis lights up Monday Night Football, scoring on a 100-yard interception return against the Dolphins.

July 29, 2012 -- After threatening a holdout for the better part of the offseason, Revis reports to training camp, albeit reluctantly. A clause in his contract makes it almost impossible for him to be a no-show. His agents try to renegotiate his contract, but they get the cold shoulder from the Jets.

Sept. 9, 2012 -- Revis suffers a concussion in the season opener and misses the next game.

Sept. 23, 2012 -- Worst-cass scenario: Revis tears the ACL in his left knee, a freakish, non-contact injury against the Dolphins. It requires seas0n-ending surgery. He decides to have Russell Warren, the Giants' team doctor, to perform the surgery, which doesn't sit well with the Jets.

Jan. 23, 2013 -- On the eve of John Idzik's introductory news conference, media reports surface that owner Woody Johnson is open to trading Revis because he's not optimistic about signing him to a long-term deal. No team official refutes the stories. Revis responds via Twitter, saying he's "speechless."

Feb. 22, 2013 -- Speaking at the scouting combine, Idzik says he's open to trading any player if it benefits the team, feuling more Revis speculation. Ryan, jokingly, says he'd trade Revis if he got Jim Brown in return. At the league meetings one month later, the Bucs emerge as a serious suitor.

April 7, 2013 -- ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Jets refused Revis' request to be excused two weeks from the off-season program, upsetting the Revis camp. The relationship is falling apart, with a trade appearing likely.

April 21, 2013 -- ESPN reports that the Jets have given written permission to Revis to take a physical and negotiate a contract with the Bucs. The Bucs send a private jet for Revis in Morristown, N.J. He arrives at 2:30 p.m. and is met by Bucs coach Greg Schiano. He pas

Woody's not being cheap. He's allocating his money in some of the wrong places for the absolute wrong reasons.

Revis was being a diva, but he wasn't stealing money from the team, which is more than I can say about some other Jets.
