Yellowsprings already has several development restrictions in place. If you visit our town, you'll notice there are no chain restaurants. Pizza hut, mcdonalds etc. They made that a rule, only mom and pops businesses. Which is cool as far as eating out goes, but grocery shopping and buying hardware type stuff sucks. You gotta drive 30 minutes away toSpringfield and go to Krogers. Unless you want to buy marked up organic groceries from a local's garden store. Not necessarily. There are renters who want to restrict certain developments near them. Or they don’t want buildings to be too high in certain areas because they want to preserve the character of that space.
Or there are homeowners who claim to care deeply about inequality so they complain about the price that the average person has to pay for rent. Meanwhile, they want to limit the housing supply.
They also restricted housing development on the local farms on the outskirts of town. Some of them don't even farm anymore so they just turned them into giant sunflower fields to look pretty.
