Not necessarily. There are renters who want to restrict certain developments near them. Or they don’t want buildings to be too high in certain areas because they want to preserve the character of that space.

Or there are homeowners who claim to care deeply about inequality so they complain about the price that the average person has to pay for rent. Meanwhile, they want to limit the housing supply.
Yellowsprings already has several development restrictions in place. If you visit our town, you'll notice there are no chain restaurants. Pizza hut, mcdonalds etc. They made that a rule, only mom and pops businesses. Which is cool as far as eating out goes, but grocery shopping and buying hardware type stuff sucks. You gotta drive 30 minutes away toSpringfield and go to Krogers. Unless you want to buy marked up organic groceries from a local's garden store.
They also restricted housing development on the local farms on the outskirts of town. Some of them don't even farm anymore so they just turned them into giant sunflower fields to look pretty.

I reserve judgment until I see how much actual “low income” housing is a part of this project. The developers play that game for sympathy come to find out one $450K house has a $20K low income credit :mjlol:

People who live out in the country do it to stay away from people and crowds and traffic. Having the 40 acre plot across the road turn into a 120 house development fukks up the whole reason you moved to the country. Im trying to by a rural house and i would be PISSED if I built a house just for them to re-zone farmland next door for a massive development.

Cities try to rezone low density land (maybe 1 house per 5 acres max) because they want the property taxes and dont give a fukk about the people already living there.

And I bet Chapelle living there was a big selling point too.

Affordable Housing isn't ran by the government like Section 8 is and thinking all low income people are criminals well :leostare:
Low income areas have more crime than other areas. There’s no thinking. It’s simply the facts. Crime is more prevalent in the lower income areas. Half of folks in lower income homes are white. The only demographic associated with higher crime is having lower income. No one wants this stuff developed by their homes. Why pretend otherwise?

What are the stats for affordable housing in high income areas? :comeon:

Stop attributing low income people to being criminals and you will be better off

What the fukk does NIMBY mean?
NIMBY, an acronym for the phrase "not in my back yard", or Nimby, is a characterization of opposition by residents to proposed developments in their local area, as well as support for strict land use regulations.
