Nah man. Def Jam has had this dude doing media runs, hitting events like El Clasico and he has a huge following on IG. This isn't a good look. Puts how much he really buzzing in perspective.

The media run been all internet shows. He hasn't done any radio shows or TV. Its just his internet that's been buzzing, all organic.

you gotta understand how low the bar is for the new cats and just keep it pushin. "considering there wasn't this that and the third, 20K sales is REALLY GOOD". these artists come thru with a boatload of heavily pushed songs hoping just ONE sticks, then disappear. Come back in a couple years and see if dudes are talking about who they were hyping up the year before.
30 years later people will STILL be talking about 90's because it has nothing to do with quality music or talent according to the hype beasts up here its because of "old heads" stuck in the past.

you're absolutely, correct.. the bar is extremely low, nowadays..

dude was supposed to be "freestyling" on that Flex clip, and his man was finishing his bars with him..

dont get me wrong.. theres alot of new artists that are really talented.. i just wouldnt put A Boogie & Don Q in that lane.. Skyzoo is light years ahead of them cats.. and, thats just for starters..

Def Jam didn't promote this like that, East promoted it himself through snippets on social media. Being at El Clasico isn't going to help him sell music at best it was a networking opportunity as he was able to link with Drake.

What media runs? He hit up Clue, Mass Appeal, Vibe but he isn't exactly doing coast to coast media runs at all the radio stations. Def Jam isn't putting any payola behind this project at least yet.

For an EP with no big singles or anything I'd say it's solid. 30-35K would've been an actual win though...

Dumb ass freestyles are not off the dome. All them classic freestyles Big L, Rocafella, G-Unit, Fabolous, Dipset, Children of the Corn, Wu-Tang, etc. they was spitting written verses and shyt from their albums. Are you dead ass right now?


SkyZoo's last EP is only better if you a elitist snob trying to hear 90's imitation music. Nikka would get ate on a track with Don Q.

He was at MTV last week. He's done a number of interviews. I like East, but these numbers given his buzz aren't good. Call like it is.
