There was a shooting in broad daylight yesterday literally down the street from my house. :francis:

This city is just getting crazier by the day. It doesn’t that help that we have an incompetent mayor and city councils who doesn’t speak up about the gun violence unless it happens on 14th street, Georgetown or any other affluent area within the city.
You think them speaking up is gonna stop the killers from killing huh? :mjlol:

In before @Mowgli ’s “liberal cities don’t value Black bodies”
:snooze:
You love it don't you? I wasn't gonna press libs on this one because the man with the gun is responsible ultimately.

Just sounds like a power vaccum being filled which is why I asked about Rico cases.

Please get me off your mind. I'll start @'ing you when i need to address the Libanese

It’s always about drugs
Sad thing is it most likely isn't about Drugs. I don't condone it but I could atleast understand folks sliding behind the drug game but I'd bet my money 95% of these murders were folks with access to guns and access to people they don't like. And most likely they don't like em because they live in a different block/neighborhood, or they smashed somebody girl, or they said something on about the person, etc

Yea but majority of it is about drugs, those just happen along the way. U live in a environment of nothing but violence you consider killing somebody over something petty because it’s a state of normalization for u.

There were 500 homicides in DC in 1990 and about the same in Philly. Population of Philly is 3 times that of DC so those numbers are ridiculously high.
Someone probably set up shop or a crew got arrested starting in 2016-2017 because murders jumped from 116 to 160 from 2017 to 2018. There were only 198 murders in 2020.

I wonder how much liberal Mandates play a part in the escalating violence. Could these just be broke citizens having to turn to the streets to survive?
