I don't know about the "29,349 per pupil" number. But i have heard on the news here locally, that DC leads the nation in per capita spending on education.

For some people it's easier to accept this debacle if they can discredit the study.
They refuse to attack the negative influences in black culture because they are partakers themselves.

naaaah b. I actually think it's the opposite. I think most of these nikkas with their heads in the sand are tucked away deep and comfortably in the suburbs. Which is why they seem so out of touch with reality. Most that have to live in the mist of this shyt will acknowledge there's a cultural/mentality problem. shyt, i was raised in DC and was a partaker in "the negative aspects of black culture" for about 2/3's of my life... until i joined the Army and got my mind right...and you don't see me in here engaging in plausible deniablity about the nikka race's collective state of cultural disfunction.

But i think it's fair to question the distribution of said funds... because to my knowledge, DC teachers in the REAL DC are generally paid pennies, and if DC has the highest per capita spending on education, shouldn't the teachers be amongst the highest paid?

But it's been shown that DC has one of the highest per pupil spending in the country and it's known that DC has below average academic performance, if pointing out that fact is humiliating to black people then so be it

As a black person I just take it as a data point that says we have to go beyond more funding if we want to fix schools

The point is that spending doesn't correlate with academic performance and you can't address education by increasing spending, that is the overall point, the exact amount of per pupil spending is not important

no 17,000 does not sound like a ton to me and it is well know that bigger school districts are pretty much forced to spend more money on various things (though like nearly all public expenditures they are often guilty of wasting money on very questionable things)
