I go out of my way to seek out and patronize Black businesses out here and I can honestly say that at least 50% of the time I have a bad experience that centers on customer service

When stuff like that happens I just leave a firm but polite comment in their social media pages knowing half the time it'll just be ignored

But according to a lot of posters in here we're supposed to just accept bullshyt from black people because we share similar skin tones

Nope, that’s the thing the average person wants the opinion of an average person. I want to know how the experience is based on a a regular person, not someone who studied culinary arts in France for 10 years.

These restaurant rules and red tape are products of toxic culture.

I want to hear about the food...most people in Atlanta know the service is outta pocket already.

But he's always discussed the food and the service. Even in Chicago, he mentioned the long wait for a takeout order then gave the catfish a 10. He hit another spot here and mentioned how the owner invited him saying they wanted to increase marketing, but they didn't do takeouts and it was a bit of a wait. He went in and talked to the owner for a minute and was very moved by her story. He's never just discussed the taste of food. He discusses the restaurant.

When I talk to people about new spots I hit up, I let them know how I liked the food, what dishes to get, but also if the food came out quick and fresh, if the servers were cool as hell, or if it was a long ass wait and the food came out cold.

Again, these sorry mofos down here deserve to be called out.

Websites be absolute trash. When I go to a website all I want to see are the hours, the menu, and a link to reservations. nikkas be having all types of animations, a life story, a pop up showing how you can be in the VIP email club, BUT NO MENU OR LINK FOR RESERVATIONS. I gotta go on yelp and hope someone took a camera pic of the menu.

These folks treat restaurants like it’s a club scene. They think you should consider yourself lucky to even get in. Once you in there it’s a privilege to scan a fukking dirty QR code to see the menu, read what all they won’t do for you, purchase overpriced drinks, listen to R&B, and receive piss poor service. The kicker is now they come by with those electronic card reader things with a 20% gratuity already added to the bill, but they don’t mention it, and then ask you to enter your tip for the total.

The whole thing is a scam.

I have a family with 2 small kids so I don’t get to take my wife out often. So when I do I want to make a reservation well in advance so I know how our evening will flow. So that rules out a lot of black restaurants because I simply don’t want to deal with the foolishness. I just want good service and good food. You can keep your grass wall, neon, stale chicken and waffles, and over priced sugar bomb drinks. I’ll go to a place where they actually understand how a restaurant should be run.

The food. See too many restaurants down here are opened by people who aren’t chefs. They hustlers and the restaurant is their hustle. That’s why they all serving the same damn brunch menu all day long. They looking for cheap food that can be masked by “vibe” and sugary drinks. These folks are not down here opening dinner restaurants because dinner requires more than chicken tenders, waffles, and grits. That’s why they can’t make substitutions on the menu or accommodate allergies, because there isn’t an actual chef involved anywhere.

This man preaching and you know what I'm noticing the same shyt starting to happen in Houston. Its the day drinking/brunch/club hustle. Cheap, limited, overpriced/over seasoned food menu with sugary drinks and shytty parking. The wait times are crazy and service is worse. Too many of them are starting to pop up around the Galleria and Midtown area here in Houston.

The crazy thing about this Keith Lee guy is he's actually getting invited multiple times by these owners, experiences the restaurant, gives his opinion, tells people don't tear down these restaurants after the reviews, and same owners still threaten him. Crazy world.

All his critiques have been said by multiple customers before it only matters now because he has a large following. They should be putting their blood, sweat and tears into their customer service and food quality and they wouldn't get bad reviews.

This is the era we are in, where a random person with a Tik Tok account can say something about a restaurant, and all of a sudden what they say is law? In the service industry there are good reviews and bad reviews. That will ALWAYS happen no matter how good the service is. Hyping up the bad reviews is the purest from of clout chasing for views

Another example of people ready to discard Small Businesses for anything. You want to shut down a Small Business because of a couple bad reviews?
