Spurs realize Vic is ready to win already. An in-prime star wanting to be in SA, they were always going to cut the check. Spurs bout to put in work. As for the Fox/Castle/Harper conundrum, Castle is the one to keep an eye on. Love his mentality, but he has the most questionable jumper of the 3, and even I as a Spurs fan know McCain was winning ROY before he got injured.
Getting Fox was 100% defensible.

Paying Fox in the 2nd apron era feels like an overpay, but if it's to speed up Wemby's timeline, defensible.

Drafting Harper on top of already having Castle when none of them are great shooters is clusterfukk city.

Detroit Lions, Michigan Wolverines & LWO
Cade (need another season like last year)
Book (not a pg)
Haliburton (out)
Maxey
Harden
Trae Young

He may be top 10 by default right now due to Kyrie and Haliburton being hurt but when everyone is healthy he’s not in that tier.

He’s in that next tier with Lamelo, Garland, Jamal Murray etc
I’m arguing these guys

He’s not worth $58 million and they know that, but they’re doing it so they can move him for a better star caliber player later once one becomes available.

Harper is the future. Sneaky athletic and a better playmaker than Fox. Fox will think he’s a first option instead of the 7’3 unicorn next to him.
Harper may be a bust we don’t know if he’s gonna be a star

De'Aaron Fox damn near eliminated the Warriors and went toe to toe with Curry until his finger injury.
Only Luka Doncic scored more in his NBA playoff debut than De'Aaron Fox.
Won the first ever Clutch Player of the Year Award.
Ended the Kings playoff drought.

His front office failed him. He wanted to stay in Sacramento. But let y'all tell it, he's an overrated bum.

You are right about Book, I also view him as a SG but he’s been listed as a PG and plays a lot of it.

Haliburton due to injury of course, when healthy I think he’s proven he’s an A-tier PG. And I can’t stand him as a player.

Maxey is younger with a higher ceiling. Cade is bigger and stronger and ascending, also shoots it better.

Harden is old but he dominated games last season as a straight up PG. He also shoots the hell out the ball

I’m not a huge Trae fan and wouldn’t be mad if someone said Fox is better, but Trae shoots it better and runs a team better imo

Thing is nothing was on the table worth trading the #2 pick for. You don't take Kon, Maluach or Tre Johnson at #2. You don't trade it to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson. You don't trade it to Phoenix for KD. That pick was a Giannis or draft Harper decision only, and Giannis was never available. You take best player available at that point, and the consensus was Harper.
