Game will be better without them.

Nah, not dynasty warriors, but the timer is at odds with the gameplay. Can't spend time exploring building and testing weapons with a timer forcing you to rush through the game.look another dude who thinks dead rising should be dynasty warriors![]()
As I said. The timer is at odds with everything else about the game. The fukk are you playing Dead Rising for if you aren't playing it for the features that made it Dead Rising? Those were the best parts of the franchise. If you wanted a mindless zombie killing game there are plenty out there. Dead Rising was great not only for the massive sandbox of the mall with 100's of weapons but because of the time limit and survivors giving you sense of urgency. Having to juggle time and mastering the routes of the mall, learning the spawns of the survivors and psychopaths while gaining new techniques as you leveled made the game fun. if you didn't care for the survivors or time limit then fail a case and run around the mall killing shyt to your hearts content or play sandbox mode the later games introduced. All taking away the core features of the game does is exclude the core fanbase.
those 2 things are what made it stand out and gave the game a sense of urgency..Timer an escort missions are the worst parts of the series.

Survivor A.I. Was dumb and frustrating. They'd get killed and it wasn't really the players fault.
It's what made me throw the first one in the bushes after one playthroughthose 2 things are what made it stand out and gave the game a sense of urgency..
too many games tell you to hurry and do something but there's no consequences to taking your time.
Frustrating A.I. and archaic save system made subsequent playthroughs unapealing to me.The timer was what the game was built on. It wasn't at odds with everything. You had a certain amount of time to complete all the tasks in the game and needed to complete them. If you didn't want to complete the story you didn't have to. You needed to manage time. You weren't supposed to beat the game on your first play through. That's why it had so many endings. You needed to level up so that your character moved faster, could hold more items etc.
The Survivor AI in 1 was bad but 2 had amazing AI. They never got stuck, never were a burden and in fact were overpowered. They could do anything and since they never ran out of ammo they were able to mow through zombies without a single worry.

There is/was a lot to like about dead rising other than the damn timer. The A.I was bad for the survivors but manageable after you figured out how to work the mall. I get 40+ survivors on playthroughs.
The save system could have used work but multiple slots would have killed a lot of the challenge. I wouldn't mind multiple slots for people though.
Here's the thing, you went into Dead Rising and didn't like the core features. You didn't like Dead Rising. So for you to say that taking out the features that made Dead Rising what it was makes it better is insulting to the actual fans of the series. You don't like Dead Rising. You like the rotting corpse of it. That's one of the biggest problems in gamings. Companies ignore their core fanbase for more casual gamers hoping to make more money but it rarely works.

I enjoyed playing the game. The timer and escort missions were a source of frustration.
This idea that only people who like what you like about the game are "true fans" is asinine.
I paid my money for all 3 games just like everybody else. I'm able to have an opinion. And apparently more people hold my opinion seeing as they've moved away from all that stuff.
