That frustration were a source of fun for me. Of course there is more to like about the games than the escorts and timer but those are the core features of the series.

You can have an opinion but opinions like yours ruin franchises and take them away from what they once were. You can't say more people hold your opinion without sales figures to back it up. When 4 out performs 1 you can be smug. Even if a majority of people did share your opinion are they going to buy the game? Will taking the timer and survivors away get them to buy it? Will taking those features away chase away fans of them? I'm not buying 4 after this news and since you already bought the first 3 it's not like it mattered if the features were in to you or not.
If the timer was a core feature that was popular with fans it would still be in the game. There's nothing "ruined" about the game other than your own specific expectations.

Dead rising 3 already outperformed 1. 4 will probably sell better than both.

Sucks you are not buying it. Did you play 3? It's still one of the best games on Xbox 1 :manny:

i'm iffy about the gritty look, give it a sense of realism since its a zombie apocolypes but part 1 and 2 being bright and colorful made it stand out from other zombie games.

Naw the game isn't what it once was. It's ruined. They took out the core features, changed Frank's character and changed the tone of the series. The story of DR was pretty serious with goofiness in the characters like the psychopaths. DR4 is going full goofball with Frank like the spinoffs. You can't say it wasn't unpopular with fans when we don't know who they had in those tests about the feature. Why would they test fans and not people iffy on the feature to try and persuade them to buy it?

Dead Rising 3 had the timer and barely outperformed 1. Capcom has them at 1.8 Mill to 2.1 Mill. Not only is the franchise not a big seller but it's also in a genre that is incredibly over represented in gaming. Zombie games are a dime a dozen. Pissing off your core fanbase of your niche series causes that series to die. Capcom already has tons of problems with its franchises and has already pissed off gamers as a whole. They can't afford to keep going on this path. It's why they went back to basics with Resident Evil. They want to win their consumers back. They even talked about that in an interview. How they had to get gamers trust back. This isn't the way to go.

They have plenty of internal play tests, reviews and surveys.

Since the first game the series has been moving away from that timer. The game continues to be successful.

If the timer was such an integral feature they would not have removed it.

The timer in dead rising 3 was non existent. Not once did I ever feel the need to rush. It was just there for story purposes. You had more than enough time to complete the game without multiple playthroughs.

And with the rest of this again you pretend your opinion is the only valid one. Its not. Search some gaming forums. Plenty of people hated the rigid timer of the first one.

That's a bad argument. Companies change integral features or lessen them if they think it's better for the game. That doesn't mean they're right. DR2 out sold DR3 so it's not like sells have been going up as the timer has been lessened.

I never needed to rush in DR2 and still played multiple times. Yeah, plenty of people hated the timer but plenty loved it. Of those who hated the timer who actually bought the games? Are they people on the outside looking in? If they really disliked the timer so much then Capcom should have offered a mode without it like in DR2. Instead they killed the timer as a whole for people who did enjoy it. Same with escorting survivors. The games went from having their own flavor to being another generic zombie series.

The gameplay was fine with the timer:francis:

U had to level up restart and manage your time efficiently. It was definitely different but it was dope

it was probably the most unique survival horror game out there for the first two games (plus otr). Its not even the same series anymore. Theres gonna be fukking regenerating health ffs :why::why:

They would not make the change if fans weren't asking for it.

And DS2 was on both platforms at the height of their popularity. DS3 released on one platform with a fraction of the user base.

There's no other "zombie game" that plays like Dead Rising with or without the timer. Timers and escort missions are not what makes the game unique.

There's nothing survival or horror about any of the games in the series.

conserving time, health, ammo, planning routes to avoid damage and zombies, thats not survival horror? :usure:

thats not even mentioning the 5 and 7day survivor modes:whew:

the similarities of the first two resident evil games and the first two dead rising games are striking when you actually think about it.

The fans are divided on it. They aren't making the change for fans. They are making the change to make the game easier for people who aren't fans to get into the series. They are casualizing the series so that is' more accessible to more people.

Timers and escort missions are what made the games unique. Dead Rising wasn't a stereotypical sandbox game. They were survival games with resource management like Resident Evil. You had a limited inventory and had to juggle what you absolutely needed vs what you wanted. It didn't become crazy and retarded until 3. 2 was headed in that direction but kept the charm of the original. It's like with Saints Row. People who didn't play the games wanted them to change into the retarded shyt the series has become now because they didn't 'get" the original appeal of the series. This left fans of the original works out in the cold as the company tried to grab onto that casual audience without even a second look at the people who made the series what it was. Then you get people saying that what the series is now is what it should have always been, wacky and fun meaning they missed the entire point of the series and they'll treat it like flavor of the month shyt. They'll possibly buy it on sale or rent it or won't even buy it at all because it's not a priority for them causing the series to fail and die while the old fans are the ones pissed because they actually cared and are now left with nothing.

Not doing this elitist "real fan" shyt with you anymore. People have a range of opinions. The devs made a decision. Can't please everyone.

If the game bombs(which it won't) then you can talk. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you.:manny:

Dead rising is nothing like resident evil :comeon:

clunky controls and combat, an open world that you slowly unlock more and more of as the story progresses, campy as hell, emphasis on surviving and running from enemies instead of fighting, zombies, im pretty sure the first one was even designed by alot of the old RE guard at capcom

nothing alike tho :troll:
