Well, until you get the Off-Roader snow tires that are referred to as "Spiked Tires" for Slopes it becomes easy job on snow mountains. You’ll need to reach 1 stars connection level with the South Fort Knot (F6) facility. As a reward for doing so, you’ll receive the Spiked Tires for Slopes vehicle upgrade. South Fort Knot is located in the very southeastern corner of Australia. I think you have to unlock by progressing through the story.

I'm currently grinding reconnecting all these roads and rails but I think I'm right there. I might progress the story just to do that

My batteries have gone dead several times whether on foot or on the off roader in those mountains

i didn’t use vehicles in the mountain areas until the end and i was fukked up at the summit. No batteries, no ropes or ladders, frostbite, i got a clip of me rolling like 50 ft down a cliff.

Holy crap this ending is phenomenal best ending to a video game in years. I can’t believe Kojima actually took the time to tie everything together so beautifully instead of his trademark shotgun blast of further confusion before slamming the game title at the end.
